  1. Thanks. Also wanted to address the minor DB9 plug mod that Matt mentioned. With Overdrive, because of the number of connections, I use generic Sega-compatible cords. With Vectrosis, which uses fewer connections, I'm able to use generic Atari-compatible cords, and these fit the Vec perfectly with no plug modification necessary.
  2. Cool review, thanks Matt! Yes, as noted on the included Overdrive sheet with warranty info... "Hyperchase relies on the spring-return feature of the Vectrex controller joystick. Because of this, you will need to return the steering wheel within the range of the center position just following a crash along the side of the road. Otherwise, the car will continue to crash to that side. Similarly, if you play Hyperchase with the joystick and hold the stick to the left or right after a crash, the car will also continue to crash. It is simply a characteristic of the game that you will quickly adust to." The decision was made not to add a spring-return feature because Overdrive would then ONLY be completely compatible with Hyperchase. VectRace, Vaboom, Spike's Water Balloons, Purgatory, and Night Trucker do not rely on spring-return. Thanks again Matt, enjoy! Note to buyers...shipping them out as quickly as I build them! Hang on, they're on their way!
  3. Pole Position is technically analog as well. But the difference between Pole Position and Hyperchase is that most people find Hyperchase to be almost unplayable using the standard controller. The Overdrive Controller makes Hyperchase an excellent playing experience! Pole Position, on the other hand, already plays very well with the standard controller. With Overdrive, you have to turn the wheel quite a bit to begin to enter the analog zone on Pole Position. So technically it's compatible, and does provide a more authentic experience because of the steering wheel, but might not necessarily be "better" than playing it on the standard controller. I somehwhat apprehensively added Pole Position to the compatibility list after being bombarded with emails telling me that it is, in fact, setup with analog steering. I checked it and sure enough it is, but it's not setup like Hyperchase at all. Compatible homebrews! VectRace (another racing game) and Vaboom by Ronen Habot are both free to download and use on VecFlash or VecMulti, or to make your own cartridge. Spike's Water Balloons by John Dondzila, is also available for free! Links are on my website. If you're considering purchasing Overdrive, keep in mind it's currently about a 3-week wait on any new orders. Thanks!
  4. Hi, no limits, order when ready. Thanks!
  5. Thanks ComputerSpaceFan. It is being released a bit later than expected, but my intention is to create a game that is above and beyond anything I've ever done on the Vectrex, a game that many people will call their personal favorite. That's my goal. There will be a couple of new images added this week to my Warrior page, displaying two of the new Warriors that will be in the single-player game. This, of course, is what's taking all of the extra time. With many new Warriors to fight and each one having unique attributes, it's been a lot of work. But totally worth it : ) Thanks for hanging in there everybody, your patience is greatly appreciated!
  6. Thanks for the mention ; ) I released Sundance just 1 week ago! Check it out: http://www.furyunlimited.com/_sgg/m1_1.htm It's an extremely accurate re-creation of the Cinematronics classic. Several game modes, better sun graphics/animation, 1 or 2 players. This is my first game with a simultaneous 2-player mode (2 controllers needed). I released War of the Worlds in June. Another Cinematronics remake with some updated game play. http://www.furyunlimited.com/_sgg/m1m2_1.htm At the beginning of the year I released Zantis, which is loosely based on the raster game Spiders. http://www.furyunlimited.com/_sgg/m1m3_1.htm Last year, I released a series of games, the Sector-X trilogy: 3D Sector-X, Sectis, and Continuum. And years ago, Royal 21, 3D Lord of the Robots, Vector 21, I Cyborg, and War of the Robots. Warrior will be my next release: http://www.furyunlimited.com/_sgg/m1m1_1.htm The following games are currently available for puchase: I, Cyborg Royal 21 Sectis Continuum Zantis War of the Worlds Sundance
  7. If it is loaded with Vectrex files, then I suggest cleaning the contacts on the cartridge and trying it again. I've had carts that have sat around for a while also not function, resulting in a boot to Mine Storm. A quick cleaning solves the problem. There are various techniques but I use an actual contact cleaning liquid. Good luck.

  10. I'd be interested in a project like this. I've done two 3D games for Vectrex, and I think that a self-contained headset console that was able to improve upon the Virtual Boy would be great. The Virtual Boy does 3D very well, but the all red display, and the need for a tripod support are the two areas that could benefit with an improved console. A smaller, lighter unit that can be worn on the head is obviously ideal.
  11. Not mine, but this is kind of what you're talking about... http://www.pyrofersprojects.com/blog/?page_id=92
  12. Excellent magazine! I am one of the U.S. distributors (though I do ship worldwide). I have the English issue #39 still in stock - just a few left! http://www.furyunlimited.com/_sgg/m3_1.htm
  13. Hi. Sorry for the confusion on this. I will be re-releasing 3D Sector-X later this year in cartridge form. The game will be identical to the first run, but will not include an engraved metal box lid. The lid will have a label like most of my other Vectrex releases. In turn, the price will be $5 lower, direct difference in cost for labeled vs engraved lids. The re-release will begin with Cartridge #101, as the first run was exactly 100 cartridges. 3D Lord of the Robots will be released as a freeware rom during the holiday season (November). It's my holiday gift for Vec fans of 2010. In 2009 I released a freeware rom of Vector 21. Status of all my Vectrex releases: War of the Robots - 2003 100+ cartridges (sold out) 2 freeware versions available in rom form http://www.vectrex.nl/ I, Cyborg - 2004 250+ cartridges (sold out) pending sequel/port Vector 21 - 2006 120+ cartridges (sold out) freeware version available in rom form http://www.furyunlimited.com/userfiles/Vector21.BIN Also freeware Windows Mobile version (Blackjack Fury) http://www.furyunlimited.com/_sgg/m2m1_1.htm 3D Lord of the Robots - 2006 100+ cartridges (sold out) pending freeware release Royal 21 - 2009 Available Now in cartridge form! http://www.furyunlimited.com/_sgg/m1m3_1.htm Also available for Windows Mobile http://www.furyunlimited.com/_sgg/m2_1.htm 3D Sector-X - 2010 100 cartridges (sold out) pending re-release Sectis Pre-orders are being accepted now! http://www.furyunlimited.com/_sgg/m1m1_1.htm 3D Vec Trek Announced
  14. Yes, they're shipping but not 10 per day! Trust me, I'll get them out as quickly as I can.
