  1. No, unfortunately it was none of the above mentioned Games. Monkeyshines comes very very close but it was not it. It could be a Port of Monkeyshines because it really looks a little bit familiar. My memories are very blurry because it was so long ago and chances are there also that it was not the 2600 System. Maybe a Knockoff of a Console which was only released in Europe Germany. But thanks for your help :-)
  2. Searching for the Name of this Game: I remember this Game from my friends house when we were like 6 years old. It should be an Atari 2600 Game if i remember correct. He called it "monkey hunting". I cant find a Game with this Name. The screen was with about 3 Platforms, for example like this: You controlled a Man. On the screen there were like about 4 Monkeys jumping around. The purpose was to hunt those monkeys or wait until they were on you. When there were on you, you had to control the Joystick quickly down. You received points for that. If you had more monkeys at the same time on you, you received more points. Does somebody know which Game this could be? Thanks
  3. Hmm , if we assume that the Crowdfunding Campaign is not manipulated by the Atari Company then this is not the single biggest collection of Atari Fans. It seems that this board is not representative at all for the popularity which apparently still exists and we were not aware of. If even a crowdfunding campaign is so succesful which is only known to a handful of internet enthusiast and even if known, risky to participate, just imagine the number of people who would actually care about a new Atari product if they would see it in stores or on amazon. Even many members here would care different if they would see the actual existing console in a store. Therefore i wouldnt say that the number of people who care is statistically insignificant. P.S. You said this is the single biggest collection of Atari Fans. Reading all the posts here makes me wonder what you mean by that Maybe you meant: The single biggest collection of Atari Haters. By the way: You and a few others complaint about my post when i said that many product reviews and other things are manipulated. I dont want to destroy your view of the world but for example many Facebook likes, the number of Twitter Followers and many many amazon reviews are fake. Sorry to tell you that but thats whats known to people outside of this forum. So you dont have to sigh or quote my text and portray me as a troll. Thats not very polite.
  4. In addition to your post: In Europe (and maybe in the rest of the world outside the US) we dont even know the term "VCS". Their consoles were always known and referred to as "Atari 2600", "Atari 5200", "Atari Jaguar" etc.
  5. Everybody is faking customer feedback on products nowadays. And a lot of Feedback postings on social media sites are even written by professionel persons or companies who get paid for it. Wake up - Its 2018 Have you been hiding under a stone the last 10 years? Besides: Not less Sport matches are arranged nowadays and the winner is determined from the beginning. The news are manipulating the people, especially CNN. Statistics are faked on every possible subject you can imagine. The government lies to you all the time.
  6. Hope and Support I hope for a System which i dream about. That means playing old Retro Games and having also new modern Versions of these Games. (like the modern version of Crash Bandicoot) And i really want a decent System now where i can copy all my Emulators (Vectrex, Commodore 64, Super Nintendo etc) on an a console with a real nice design and also use it for Netflix and WWE Network. I want to support it because i want that console to happen. If nobody supports it in the first place and instead everybody is waiting until it is on retail in the shops then i dont think Atari can publish this console. Their financial abilities are limited to bring a console out like Microsoft or Sony. So they need the support via crowdfunding in the first place.
  7. I get the feeling that the money on Indiegogo was mostly given by Atari SA himself. It could be to create a Hype or convince the people to go for it too. I am getting more and more concerned about the outcome next year. It will be either a flop or really the beginning of something very big with a lot more to come. Of course i hope for the second.
  8. Atari said in the comments section: "This is just the beginning" and "With the VCS solid and ready to go for launch, there will be countless places to go after that." "this platform is intended to offer a lot of opportunity to expand in many ways."
  9. I dont like what happened with the Tempest thing. With matters like these i also get my doubts if everything is ok behind the curtains. To be honest: I am also not pleased that with the Beginning of the campaign there is so less information about Games and Services. Thats really a point where i have to give you all credit. I am still positive though that in 1 year things will turn into good and many of you will be convinced and change your opinion. You could then apologize that you were so negative.
  10. On a serious note: Last year there was a short Pac-Man Teaser. It said coming soon with no more detail at all. But nothing came after that until this day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZlYcS3V3vA I wonder if this has to do with the new Atari VCS. What do you think?
  11. Well, then it should be a no-brainer for them to put it on their shelves. The product made 2 Million Dollars in a few hours and another Million the next weeks. And it all happened on a risky crowdfunding campaign with absolutely no product. Imagine how good a product could sell now from the shelves Actually based on this campaign the demand is huge. I will say it in your own words: They have no working prototype, no Games, no UI and the people still crashed the Indigogo webseite with their demand. Imagine how many of the doubters, which represent the majority of potential buyers, will place their order when they see a working prototype with decent Games and added services. I would say the demand already shattered expectations that every member here on the Forum, the Atari company and Indiegogo had.
  12. You have to consider this very important fact. Atari has a Name. It is a brand that everybody recognizes. Only a handful of people know that Atari is not the original Atari from the 80s anymore. The Name is an automatic seller. A recognizable Name with good memories is golden nowadays. Everybody in the economy dreams of that to have a brand that the customer is familiar with. Names like Coca Cola, Jeep or Atari. And to be honest: Atari is a huge Name. I would say, for people in their 40s and 50s it is one of the most known company names. So it is very, very likely that Stores would put a product from Atari in their shelves.
  13. What is your problem with me? I am not apologizing anything. I am just very optimistic. Unlike you, i never had problems with other Kickstarter projects and i have never been burnt with failed Consoles. This is my first experience. It seems that most here are bittered people because their favourite hobby was treated badly in the past by crooks and you feel used and tricked by them. But that is not a reason to make other people feel bad if they are happy to see an old company coming back to life again. I am not French and already told that in the past. And even if i were from France: What difference would it make? I live in Germany and my roots are from Greece. Are you happy now? Does it make a difference that you know that i am from Greece/Germany? Man, get off my back. Everything i do or comment, you critizise me. I saw the teaser last year from Atari on a Gaming News Website and was fire and flame the moment i saw it. Because i always loved Atari when i was a Kid. Later in my youth i had an 800XL. That was my first Computer. I admire you all because you really love your Hobby. And i really feel sorry that you all were tricked and cheated with the Coleco or whatever. But admit that Casual Gamers, Hipsters and Nostalgists like the idea of a new Atari Console. The numbers speak for themselves. Its been a huge success. Compared to Nintendo or Sony it is almost nothing but it was pledged 2.5 Million Dollars already . I am the one of 10.000 who likes it. So what? What is your problem with me that i like it? Everybody has an Opinion. My opinion is that it is only the start and that there will be announced more and more in the future and that Atari will have a comeback and they will do anything to satisfy their customers and bring more services and more Games and bring a fresh attitude to the market of the established big companies and that the community of Atari Players will grow more and more. Success brings more success to it. If this Project will succeed than i am sure that the Community will grow from 10.000 customers to 100.000. So just let me have my opinion and dont attack me personally. I said it before. This feels here like a sworn in group. You rant and grump and bleat the whole day and if somebody else comes he gets attacked. I wish everybody would be so rational and friendly like MrBeefy. Maybe you should think to yourselve. It has gotten to a point where you are paranoid. People who are optimistic are automatically employees from the company or from France.
