  1. Hey! Sorry about the delay. Totally forgot to post. They are nice. Do the job well. If I had just a little more time, I would have likely just gone to the store to buy some thick black felt or fabric and done the same thing, but then I would have had so much cloth left over. Happy with the results. For $4 it's totally worth the time savings.
  2. So glad it worked out. The biggest hurdle when deciding to work in electronics is getting over the "magic" factor. These things aren't all that difficult to fix. The real magic is in the design and engineering of the systems but once the wizards do that, it's all just carpentry. Pull this, push that and screw there. Easy peasy.
  3. The washers are on the way. I'll post impressions once I install them. I know it's a minor part, but it was itching my brain to know the restoration wasn't complete. Now I'm searching for joysticks.
  4. I seem to remember Atari having a proprietary language called ATASCII (spelling?) or something like that. I've never tried my hand at writing programs aside from the high school BASIC we learned in the 80's but I'm just curious.
  5. Thanks to both of you for the offer and the information. For $4 I figured I would go with the guy on ebay. But I may take you up on the offer later, River, when I get around to the Vader console.
  6. Looks like that's going to be the only way to get them. I guess if I do it I'll bang out a bunch and offer them to others for a SASE.
  7. I recently re-flowed all the solder joints and did a quick cleaning of all the contacts in my light sixer, but all six washers were hard and I wasn't able to save any of them. They just crumbled into dust. Does anyone sell replacements?
  8. Strange. I haven't weighed it yet, but the case I have looks like the heavy sixer case, at least to my eyes... let me add some pics. And weigh it as well. EDIT: It's a light sixer..
  9. I recently got this sixer. Maybe it's a heavy sixer? Not sure even though it has the "u" shaped thick trim and it sure is heavy. But no stickers on the bottom so I can't be 100% sure. Anyway, I took it apart to re-flow the solder joints on the power switch which was being difficult (and all six joints were cracked) and spray some cleaner into the switches, followed by some De-Oxit Gold. It now works perfectly (amazing!) but I'm curious about the PAL sticker. So far frogger and combat look perfect and play pretty well on my Samsung LCD. I have attached some pics to see if you guys can confirm a heavy sixer and show you a detail of the PAL sticker. Also, anyone have a source for the black felt washers? Mine were either missing or hard and brittle.
