WTB: Dark Chambers for 400/800/xl/xe

Mon Aug 13, 2018 9:23 AM

I'm looking for a cartridge of Dark Chambers XEGS. I have discovered a problem with my 800xl and when I play the dark Chambers game from my ultimate cart I am finding graphical glitches and I don't know if it's the antic chip or the GTIA or a corrupted image. I have found three different ROM images on the internet and tried all three and all three have similar Graphics glitches. I think for me the only way to tell if it's a defective chip or a defective image is to find an actual cartridge and see if I get the same glitches on the cart. Here's a link to the thread that I started about this problem:

Can't find links for SIO2PC-USB`

Sun Aug 12, 2018 4:35 PM

I bought a SIO2PC-USB from Lotharek, and I remember seeing links for the software and drivers, and links for the type of USB cable I needed. Now for some reason I am unable to find any information at all. Could someone please be so kind as to share some links here? I keep searching and coming up empty.

Graphics glitches on 800xl games. Normal?

Sun Aug 12, 2018 11:06 AM

Hi again.. Now that I've got my 800xl working (presumably) I am spending today playing games on my Ultimate cart. I am noticing graphics glitches, and I don't know what could be causing it. Could it be the Antic chip needs replacing? Or could this be caused by the ultimate cart or even a bad SD card? I have already come across game images that crash and freeze up, while others show strange artifacts on the screen. Not sure what to do...

Atari 800xl Missing Last 8 Bytes of RAM?

Sat Aug 11, 2018 2:29 PM

I just replaced these 4 chips:
U2 IC Decoder C061428
U3 IC Mem Mngt Unit (MMul B) C061618
U4 IC (8kx8) Basic ROM RevB C060302
U5 IC (16kx8) OS ROM C061598
I had been getting red ROM bars in the memory test. Now ROM is green, RAM is green - everything looks good except the last 8 bytes of RAM are missing. Is this normal? I thought the 800xl had 48 bytes of RAM.
