PSX lightgun question based on old AA post

Wed May 15, 2013 10:54 PM

I have a Konami Justifier light gun coming (thanks in advance to Ax and his amazing vault of awesome retro goodness!) and there are a number of games for it that I am going to buy.

However, I am confused about one title. According to Wikipedia's list of compatible games, I need the GunCon controller to play the Jessie James game...

Gunfighter: The Legend of Jesse James (GunCon)

... but according to this 9 year old AtariAge post, I will be able to play Jessie James with my Justifier. Is this true?

Gunfighter: The Legend of Jesse James (Any gun)

Anyone got both the Justifier and Jessie James that could test this out for me?

would playing old WipeOut help me play new WipeOut?

Mon May 13, 2013 10:52 PM

I gave up on the WipeOut HD game I got for free from PSN because I just couldn't wrap my head around the controls. I could race just fine but any twists and turns on the track made me useless and I kept losing. I already asked AA for advice and tried to follow it but I am no good.

But I just got a PSone and I am thinking maybe if I get the original WipeOut for it I might improve. Anyone know if my plan will work? Or is classic WipeOut just the same controls as WipeOut HD?

opinion of Star Wars 32X?

Fri May 3, 2013 11:01 PM

Can I ask the general opinion folks have of the Star Wars 32X game? I was discussing it with a friend of mine and he seems to have a completely different opinion so I was just wondering which of us best reflects the perspective of retro gamers at large.

PSone with LCD screen, any issues I should know?

Tue Apr 23, 2013 10:12 PM

I'm thinking of buying one of these but I'm curious if anyone here has pointers of things I need to be careful of. I have heard the disc drive can be flaky fairly commonly.
How is the lifespan of the screen?
Is the power cord a decent length (like 6 feet)?
Any titles it is not compatible with?
Anything else I should be wary of?
