  1. Hi to all- yes, did have known good carts loaded in the GD3, and they did load automatically. To boot the menu, you hold 'R' on P1 as you power on the SNES. For the SWC (Super Wild Card going forward), yes did have both SNES and SFC carts on hand and slotted, but to no avail. I've heard that the OG power supplies can be the issue, but I have seen a SWC work on an SNES with an original power supply, and they were designed to work that way, so who knows. I will say that these two things, especially the SWC are in the weeds! I've set up a space on my bench with a cam and can share more going forward. I pp'd (prematurely posted)! Hope everyone is having a rad Sat-
  2. So I'm interested in the possibility of having these repaired, if anyone knows what direction to point me in I'd be most thankful.
  3. This is a photo from another collector worldofjani.com, who has been pretty helpful too. Mine is the same model. The caps at these locations appear to have been replaced on mine. The mod seen here is not done on mine. I'll have to open the GD3 to take a picture in the morning.
  4. Well, I am no expert, but here's the issue. I think! I have a Super Wild Card from Front Fareast that is just...screwed up. The previous owner said it was dead. I myself was unable to get it to work on any of my SNES', but strangely, it will at least boot up to the menu on a Yobo Twin device. However, if you try to load or boot from a floppy, the FDD light just blinks once, and resets the system. Upon examining the interior of the unit, I can see many points for failure, but do not have any idea where to start. The second unit it a Game Doctor SF3 from Bung Asia. It appears to have a FDD with a bad belt, so I replaced it with the exact same model of drive that had previously been working, just swapped them out. I can get the device to boot, but cannot get the FDD to do anything. It uses a proprietary 26-pin micro FDD, that I had to find in the ether- and sadly no pop for this unit either. They don't use a typical FDD pinout and I can't seem to find any way to use a standard floppy or floppy emulator with the 26-pin connection this unit has. The power is via the 26-pin cable. So, just kinda stuck on both projects. Kind of a bummer- I think these devices and their history are super cool. Thanks for reading!
  5. -or know someone that is? I have a few devices here that need a little work to get going. Any help woulod be much appreciated! -Justin
  6. Thanks AB- I will shoot them a message and post any correspondence!
  7. Hey gang- my buddy who gets super into River Raid broke the stick off my Trooper joystick last night. Snapped it right off at the base. I was able to unthread the rest of it from the center, does anyone know if I can use an OEM Atari joystick stick to replace it, or if there are any TROOPER parts available out there? Obviously gluing it back together isn't an option. TIA!!
  8. Dude, yes. I have a group here in Tulsa that absolutely loves this. Thanks everyone in the thread, I'm happy this generated some conversation!! Party Quiz!!!!
  9. MrFISH! You rule man, thanks. This should be a blast! Do these Suncom controllers work for any other games- anyone know?
  10. Hey team- I bought a PQ Party Quiz package from ebay, the manual, the 4 controllers, and a game disk. However, the game disk (copied apparently) has a version on it that has been re-authored by "Mr. Camaro" to use regular joysticks. So, the proprietary Suncom paddles will not work- only a regular joystick. Seein's how this totally erases the fun of having this game set out at a party, with the game paddles, this has been a bit of a bust. MY QUESTION: Does anyone have an original unmodified PQ Party Quiz disk or image they would be willing to share? The one, of course, not redone by "Mr Camaro". We'd love to try out the whole setup the way it was intended! Much thanks for reading! NKA
  11. Thanks everyone for the replies. Larry has also given me some assistance and food for thought which has been awesome- I am entering my busy time of my week with work in about an hour here, but by mid-Saturday I'll be back on this project. ? It's interesting how much there is to learn on this topic, existing in mostly modern computing myself! Thanks all-
  12. Well, I can't seem to get that to work either. I have to be missing something simple, I just can't seem to figure it out. Thanks everyone for your time replying, I'll give it a shot another time. ?️
  13. I'm going to head over and give this a try. Will report back, thanks machf!
  14. Thanks DJayBee I tried this Disk Utilities 90k .atr, and got this error: Please forgive my ignorance on this topic. I’d love to figure this out though.
