Atari 2600 games with FEMALE lead characters
TeddyBear89 replied to Living Room Arcade's topic in Atari 2600
I immediately thought of 20th Century Fox's Alien with Ripley but it turns out the manual only refers to your player as a "human". Got Alien on the brain these days as I cannot wait for Alien Romulus to come out this summer...... -
Elektronite released an outstanding CIB version of Miner for the Intellivision a few years back that you don't really hear too much about. I ended up selling my copy as I found the precise jumping and movements required were a bit of a chore for my thumb using the Inty controller.

Somebody reneged.....Lot was re-listed. This makes me fondly recall the time years ago that I was drunk as a skunk and placed a $500 bid on a 5200 Bounty Bob Strikes Back cart. Happily, I woke up the next morning to find that I was outbid. Whew! Kids, don't drink and eBay!

Somebody please tell this 7800 novice what in the hell is worth $2K in this lot?
-
On occasion I get tempted too but for a slightly different reason - I would love to play this baseball game but sadly it is two-player only.
-
Does the two Boing! manuals mean there are two Boing! carts? Boing! ain't cheap and more importantly it is by far one of the better 2600 games.

A pleasure to deal with......highly recommended!

List of game consoles seen in TV and movies?
TeddyBear89 replied to 7800fan's topic in Classic Console Discussion
From WKRP in Cincinnati (season 3, episode 22) Arthur Carlson is playing a handheld he called "Computer Baseball". It is too wide to be a Mattel game. And I think Bailey Quarters was the true hottie on the mighty KRP! -

Hunchy II is an excellent suggestion! And so is H.E.R.O.! For many years I too thought the C-64 version of Montezuma's Revenge was the best but now only play the VCS port. It is scaled down perfectly (this is the Atari 2600 after all) with 3 levels and not having to wander forever looking for the right colored-keys. The speed of the creatures ramps up nicely and the bonus round after completing each level remains in tact. There is no wrong answer here.....good luck!

Intellivision Ebay Roundup
TeddyBear89 replied to IntellivisionDude's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
You need to have the hand strength of The Incredible Hulk to push the side buttons. After using that Wico controller for 30 seconds, you'll never complain about the Intellivision II buttons again. -
From the May 1984 Electronic Games magazine.......I have always wondered if this was really a letter written by a real person or just a fictitious "scared straight" type of warning from the magazine. Anyone have knowledge about this? I know it was 40 years ago but the alleged punishment seems pretty harsh. Of course, I'm comparing it with the violent and stupid crimes committed by today's youth.

Load Runner and more available at Intellivision Collector
TeddyBear89 replied to BBWW's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
Just spent 90 quality minutes playing the C-64 version yesterday on a snowy winter day. Lode Runner is probably my "you're stranded on a deserted island - pick only one game" selection answer. Two questions: It appears that you have to use both the bottom left and right side buttons to dig, yes? Also, is there a high score save feature like the pic below? This looks awesome! -
9 Hours of updates to Atari 7800 Forever.com
TeddyBear89 replied to Cousin Vinnie's topic in Atari 7800
My 7800 is put away for now (winter months are meant for Commodore 64 time) but color me blown away about the Joust Easter Egg!!!! Forgive me if I overlooked figuring this out myself but is there any significance with these two numbers (53 and 41)? 3) Press Down on Joystick one 53 times. 4) Press Left on Joystick one 41 times. This may be the most random Atari egg ever!
