Thanks 74, most grateful for the advice. Yeah it is a 92 or 93 ish machine STFM I had upgraded to 4mB, so is probably an early version of the TOS. I have to highlight the drive icon as you say to get access to the options menus. I will fumble around again and I am sure I will get it sorted eventually as I did to get the HDD partitions sorted. I think the mixers are there somewhere as I got them up last night on the programme but could not connect them to the track. It will be something simple... I will consult the comprehensive guide book I have by Udo Weyers. I am not very well up on the different early versions of TOS and the one thing that is a bit annoying is that if you drag and drop then it copies the files as opposed to allowing you to just move them... bah ... so then you have to go back and delete the files from the location that you copied them from otherwise you just end up with multiple duplicate files and folders all over the place.... or am I doing something wrong? It is frustrating. Anyway, thanks for all the help 74... really appreciated mate ... Will let you know when I get it sorted 😉👍

I think that TOS is very different from the modern PC Windows operating system when it comes to file management and how to use folders and subfolders and if you have been out of the Atari loop for some time as is me then it takes time to get your head around the differerent nuances of the TOS file management system again. I hope that makes some sort of sense to you 74. Thanks mate 👍🥰

Thanks 74... it is doing my head i Tried everything and just keep getting .... module not loaded.... I know they all have to be in the same folder of the master programme . It will be something dead simple. I spent ages trying to get the HDD partitions sorted and Tillek and TG really helped me. In the end I fumbled through and it was simple. What you say makes a lot of sense, I will look at it again tomorrow when I am a bit less... err.. blah... err .. incoherent shall we say 🤣🤣 Thanks mate, really appreciated 🥰 Smithers 👍👍

I am now doing the difficult and time consuming process of downloading all of the games and files to the HDD. I managed to find the D and E partitions so 211mB total HDD... happy days🥰 Will keep on boring you guys and asking advice ha ha Take care bud. Smithers 🥰👍

Hello all Firstly I just wish to thank all of the great guys here for the brilliant help I have received.... especially TG and Tillek, thanks guys for helping me set up the HDD 😅👍This is such a great forum. I have a query that is a bit specialist. I am running Cubase Score 3.1 circa early 90's for my music sequencing. All is good apart from I cant get the mix track to work. I have downloaded the mixer modules to the Cubase folder that I set up on the HDD but it wont load in when I open the program... Any ideas? Thanks guys Smithers 👍

Thanks TG, I thought this would be the case. But no worries, I am so happy to have sorted out the partition issues and got the D and E running now and its 211mB, more than I will ever need, so thanks again for the great help dude 🥰👍. If I can just learn one new little thing about the TOS and GEM every day then I am happy 👍 I am thinking that aftermarket floppy drives to plug into a Windows PC may still be available? I think if I get one and download Atari apps from the web, would the ST recognise the format? Would I need to format the disc on the ST first? Thanks mate 😉👍 Smithers

I loaded the HDD drivers for the D and E from the installation disc but when I went to the options menu, the install new drive was greyed out. Maybe there is only 1 partition. Disapointed ... it was sold as 200 meg, but happy enough with 15 mB it will do for me. Thanks xxx Maybe I am doing something wrong.

It is showing 2meg used and 13 meg available so maybe there are other partitions? The guy who sold me it had 100% good Ebay feedback. I will refer to your previous post. Very steep learning curve but getting there slowly. Thanks TG 😉👍
