  1. My mileage has varied, I wonder if it's the older versus newer version of the 78? Everything is working with the 7800 Mega either way out of the box (well, ziplock-alike bag.) My second 7800 Mega arrived from the AtariAge store today, so I'm set for 2 player wireless.
  2. That's good news! I have two of the older style Seagull 78s and the M30 (bluetooth) doesn't work with them at all, unless I ended up with a flawed set of Seagull 78s. They're fine with regular Genesis controllers, so they'll still be in use for demos at events as usual. I have a second 7800 Mega (and a second 7800 GD for that matter) on the way, that's probably as much as I'll be able to test.
  3. Gotcha, nevermind then.
  4. To clarify what was probably my message (not problems with your games mind you, which are outstanding, but with the Pocket's 7800 core) - ProSystem might have been used as documentation, but it's certainly an FPGA rewrite at best. Probably Verilog. The 7800 core has filesize limits in how it loads ROM images through the OpenFPGA framework, as you get OpenFPGA errors trying to load larger files, and places the Pokey at 4000 whereas most homebrews seem to look for it at 450. There are also a few visual glitches due to an incomplete Maria implementation. I suppose they just wanted to get everything out there, but they haven't updated the core since October of 2022 and I don't expect anything more. I don't have a MiSTer, but I wouldn't be surprised if it has a better/more up to date core.
  5. Definitely. I have both, and I was happy to be able to use Genesis/Mega Drive controllers with the Seagull 78 adapters for 2 button play in 7800 games before the 7800 Mega existed. The 7800 Mega has extra functions with the 7800 GD, supports more buttons in homebrew games written to take advantage of it, and as I found out recently it also works with 8bitDo's wireless adapter for their M30 controller which doesn't work with the Seagull 78. The Mega 7800 is very highly recommended, I plan to get another for 2 player wireless. With that said, I have two 7800 consoles and occasionally take them to gaming events to display homebrew titles; probably some new re-releases now too. There'll still be a place for the Seagull 78s in my setup.

It should be. Alas, it works with everything else I've tried, the process is too much hassle for my limited free time/lack of a Windows system, and I have four flash carts for my 7800 including the 7800GD. TLDR; I'm too lazy to do so.

I wasn't able to get it running on my Dragonfly, instead of the Atari logo it comes up with a beeping sound and a scrambled display. Admittedly I haven't applied any of the updates to my Dragonfly since I bought it, so that may be the issue. Other very recent titles I tried are loading fine, so the Dragonfly doesn't seem to be damaged. I share the Micro SD card between my Dragonfly and 7800GD, I know the BB file's working fine on the 7800GD.
  8. Not yet, just a message asking for updates on the address so they can finalize shipping. I purchased it once in 2019 and again earlier this year, so I assume it'll take time for them to get through all those orders.
  9. I wouldn't wait, I'd send them a message if you didn't get what you were supposed to. They're apparently going to disable the download soon. The email's subject line was "Here's your Demons of Asteborg ROM file!" and it arrived on the 6th at 5:55am PDT. The sender is Neofid Studios.
  10. I've verified that it works with the updated MED Pro as stated, who knows if/when the X7 series will get updates. I also verified that it doesn't run on a jailbroken Mega SG as a file, at least not yet. I still want to wait for the cartridge release to go all the way through the game.
  11. From their email you can get it to work on the X7 by modifying a header entry, though I'm not sure I have the time these days to make it through the entire game without saves. With the Pro it's supposed to be fine. I do have the MED Pro cart (and an X7, and a Mega SD for that matter...) though my preference is admittedly to play it on the real cart when one arrives.
  12. I have two boxed carts on the way and bought the Switch version. The download came the other day too, I should probably load it up on the Mega Everdrive Pro (apparently the only flash cart which currently works with it.) It really is a well done game, I would have gladly bought it for the same price if it had been released in the commercial lifespan of the Genesis.
  13. Nope, 4:3 all the way. I find it just as weird as you do, although again it's not a pressing issue and more of a curiosity. I edited the resulting picture on my computer into a perfect square shape in Photoshop and still couldn't scan it with my phone. My wife's phone (an iPhone, mine's an Android) couldn't read it either.
  14. I'm sure I'd feel the same if I had one. Unfortunately they're going for a bit out of my budget range even broken.
  15. The Jaguar SD finally arrived yesterday, albeit through SAG since I see pre-orders are insanely backed up at AA (though I'm still in line here.) Everything looks great! I rather like the finish on the cart personally and running software seems to work as it should. The only odd bit I found so far is that I couldn't get the QR code for the update URL to work with my mobile phone, not really an issue since the URL comes up by pressing option, but other than that I can finally play the Native demo and those great ST ports which didn't get cartridges on real metal. Maybe I'll try picking up some Jag CDs to see if I can get some of them going next.
