  3. I did this exact mod a while back and only hitch I had was wrong resistor value (my bad) on one piece. Once I put in the right resistor, my 1200XL had awesome video.
  4. ... 46, near Longview, Texas ... beautiful East Texas. First computer: Radio Shack Color Computer w/ 4k RAM, later upgraded to 16k Second computer: Atari 800 w/ 48k RAM Now have multiples of 800 (3), 800xl (2), 1200xl (2) ... But only 1 - 130xe ??? Don't ask me why.
  5. Well this was my poor attempt at an April Fools joke, but no one got it! Like I'd really throw out a busted 1200XL! With rare ROMS even! Well I just assumed that someone else does stupid stuff like I do ... sometimes. I cannot recall what became of my original 800 or my original 1200XL from back in the 80s. I do remember selling my Radio Shack Color Computer (my first PC, before I saw the light ... Atari). But, with the price wars raging and the video game biz flowndering, I purchased a 'sewing-machine' Compaq Portable early on and believed that computers were more destined to be used in business ... who needs games. Well, 20 some years later, things have come full circle and I've re-aquired an 800 (and an extra), as well as a 1200XL (and an extra), and a couple of 800XLs and one 130XE. I'll never throw any of it out, but my wife keeps wanting to know, "Why don't you sell or get rid of some of your Atari stuff". Life is a continuous and sometimes humbling, learning treadmill ...
  6. Between your whatevers, you may be dangerously flexing the space-time continuum. Just to be safe, be sure to keep a spare flux capacitor in one hand, leaving the other hand free for holding ... you know ... whatever. This way you will always be able to get back to us here in the Central Time Zone.
  7. Wow! Someone who has WAY!!! too much time on their hands. So sad, when you load your games from cassette that you don't have time to get 'A' cup of coffee ... you have time to have the whole pot (and maybe then some). I liked hearing the bytes steam across from the tape to RAM. Yes, great memories. I've got a 1010 here beside me but not a single cassette, GRRR. Now look what you've done! More things I need to pickup for my collection.
  8. I'll get some better closeups while you get your PC back up.
  9. I sent you a private email with information for uploading onto one of our servers.
  10. This link has info for dectecting various DOS versions: http://www.atarimagazines.com/v9n1/techtips.html
  11. O.K., here are the first pictures taken of my Axlon. Hope you can see the wire you are looking for. If these pics are not good enough, I can try again from closer range.
  12. I found my camera today. Probably needs charging. I'll check it out tomorrow.
  13. I now have the box containing the Axlon 800 over here at our new place ... need to find my camera though. Moving is so much fun!
  14. Yes, I have an Axlon board one in one of my 800s. We have moved recently and all of my Atari's are still at the old place. I will try to get over and find the 800 with the Axlon before the end of the weekend and get back with you on this thread.
  15. ValForth and documentation for all of the modules ...
