  1. Yes! In fact, Joe may have come to this whole fanzine thing independently of the Arnie Katz-led effort that largely kicked off VG fandom. I'm hoping to secure an interview with Joe one of these days. I have a lot of DP reading to do before I reach out.
  2. Hi everyone, I'm seeking copies of a video game newsletter, possibly the first of its kind, created and circulated by Anthony Contorno, onetime resident of Passaic, New Jersey (and a lapsed user of this website). To date, I've managed to locate just a single copy (Feb/Mar 1984) thanks to a longtime collector of fanzines. I'm hoping some other collectors out there might have additional copies in their archives. Unfortunately, Mr. Contorno's master copies were all lost in a basement flood. This request is part of my ongoing effort to document and describe the history of video game fandom and fanzines in particular. To the best of my knowledge, "Joystick Jolter" is the first amateur publication of its kind to achieve anything like wide circulation. That said, if you know of or own fanzines that predate "Jolter" please let me know! If you can help, respond to this post or send me a DM on Twitter (@mobilesworking). Many thanks in advance.
