I also did tried out making a cover with a dual pokey configuration It can be difficult to balance the channels compared to one pokey, haha Time Trax.rmt

First cover I've done in a while Made in rmt 1.34, besides the lack of vibrato on the lead, this song from the "exciting" gameboy game fits pretty well on the POKEY Fun fact: the original made use of both channel hard panning and master soft panning on the Gameboy, which the latter usually isn't emulated spot.wav spot.rmt

Unicorns season: Prince of Persia for the A8!

This is just a weird question, but do fan-made ports from scratch fall under copyright? If so, who would own the copyright: the makers of the port, the makers of the original game, or a mix of both? -

I can also confirm that two-tone works in the Modo computer music player app on android, yet colleen (the atari800 android port) doesn't emulate it. By the way, are there any old tunes before instrumentarium that used two-tone? -

Yoooooooooooooooooooo Thanks, @rensoup! I intend to upload more, but I have to make sure the .SAP exports are good, since some of the versions of RMT I used to make some of them don't have .SAP exporting, so I might have to do a bit of that. No biggie though But I have another I can share right now. Enjoy! Gauntlet III Title.sap -
Scorched/Worms/Angry Bird kind of games
EnderDude replied to manterola's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Perhaps the default mode could be where only the active player's tank would be colorized with a player, whilst all the others would remain playfield bitmaps in hi-res mode? That way, the other three player sprites could be used to potentially colorize the explosions? -
tracker.obx is the file used by RMT made in a certain way to work with the tracker UI. It's not intended to be ran on its own and therefore crashes the system when attempting to do that. In this instance, vin put essentially added another routine to its code to use two tables for CH1 and CH3 when the conditions AUDCTL = $64, and the same notes being played are met. Essentially, tracker.obx defines the behavior of the tracker driver.
-
Nah man What you do with tracker.obx file is that you replace it in the RMT binaries folder of Vins' RMT build to load it into RMT when you open it.

[RELEASE] RASTER Music Tracker, v1.34.00
EnderDude replied to VinsCool's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
It was a very quick fix! Since rmt 1.28/1.30 didn't have good dist 2 1.79mhz tables, you compensated for that by transposing it 2 semitones, and then offsetting the pitch by $FE additionally. I simply removed that fix you made to utilize vin's new notetables to make it sound right again. 2021-12-27 10-37-31.mp4- 439 replies

Oops! I forgot to reply. Thank you! The table really helped me find all the needed frequencies so far! I basically made various C and E table instruments with various offsets to fit most cases, and it sounds nice. I'm also debating where I should put the first switch from 15kHz to 64kHz around the intro to make it as smooth as possible. Perhaps I should make it switch to 64kHz as soon as there are arpeggios instead of in the middle of the track? 2021-11-18 20-56-28.mp4

@VinsCool@ivop So I'm trying to find tones for dist C which are 50 cents (a "quartertone") between the current tunings for the bass part of the song I'm working on. Before I invest a lot of time for looking for them, did you already go through all of them? I didn't see them in the spreadsheet, but I'm just asking if you did those too already.

Sometimes 2 tone and filter in a chord work out niiiiiicely this is a sneak peek of another cover I'm making If I'm careful with how I configure the channels, I might be able to retain the echoing, or at least settle for a good compromise 2021-11-12 16-56-20.mp4

Oh, right! This whole thing had to do with tuning! Now, I'm making the assumption that somewhere in the player, there are note tables which can be edited to sound a tad bit more in-tune. Ultimately, these are nitpicks tho lol

This is because .mod files aren't made to take advantage of the pokey's abilities, and you have to extensively rearrange it to make use of the pokey-specific features sometimes.
