  1. I'm assuming it's an original 800 and not the XL? If so, get yourself a decent well shielded S-Video cable, I'd recommend the one from Hercules.... https://www.herculesworkshop.net/atari and commodore video cables.html And then I'd recommend the Retrotink 2x, you may be able to find t cheaper on eBay or elsewhere but this is the official site.... https://www.retrotink.com/product-page/retrotink-2x-pro It scales beautifully, has several options for the ratio and scaling and has worked with every monitor and TV I've thrown it at. I've been through soooooo many crap HDMI converters on Amazon, in the long run I'd really recommend avoiding the headaches and grabbing the 2x. You might also consider the SIO2SD or SDrive Max, maybe the fujinet. Unless you're a purist and want everything on floppy, these inexpensive USB alternatives give you access to the entire library in one shot, every game, app, the whole enchilada. Anyhow, enjoy the 800, it's an absolutely wonderful machine and a piece of history!
  2. Any mods to the motherboard, no wires coming out of odd places? The only thing I can think of would be affixing a small pcb to it. Maybe they were trying to buffer the keyboard click? Odd, and nope, I've never seen that before.
  3. Ah well, I'll probably grab it way down the road on when the price drops, a shame about the mouse control, thanks.
  4. How's the mouse control on this for Centipede and Millipede? One of my main gripes with the Atari anniversary edition was the added "Arcade trackball sliding" feature with the mouse movement, done to accurately portray the real cabinet. Problem is, it's not a real cabinet and I don't have a weighted trackball, so the mouse movement was really dodgy. Did they do a better job on this anthology, or is it pretty much the same? I'm looking for 1-1 movement, no pointer following and no weighty slides. Thanks (again!) for any insight.
  5. What's the classic mode? Can the keys be mapped to the keyboard? What did they mean by 'enhanced', is it just the 5200 version? Thanks for any input on this, it's my favorite game.
  6. Glad you reminded me of that, thanks. I had trouble getting this running as well, but finally got it going using just the D1: drive and swapping images. I guess some of the earlier titles were designed with just 1 drive in mind, I'll have to try the same with Trek 3.5. Cheers!
  7. I'm running Star Trek 3.5 with an SIO2SD, I have a blank formatted disk setup as D2: However, I'm constantly getting an error 129 when trying to save a game in progress. Everything else works fine, and I verified that I can save/restore with that blank disk image with other games. It's not a game breaker as the length is usually around 1.5hrs, but it'd be nice to be able to save.
  8. Yeah, that or a weight, I was trying to figure it out. Either way, it's pretty much just a box of junk for $250. /begin deep thought processes.... Atari 800 with incognito board Unreleased 8-bit stereoscopic glasses worth unimaginable wealth Large dome of pure gold plated in protective plastic and packaged carefully not to harm anything 🤓
  9. Just browsing the daily insane eBay deals and ran across this.... http://shorturl.at/cfzVY A terrifying looking box of cramped and neglected hardware. For $250 you'd think they'd at least give you some decent shots of the product. But . . . .those glasses, anybody have any insight as to what they are?
  10. Very cool, I don't recall ever seeing rankings, thanks for posting this!
  11. Yes, people are absolutely bat$hit monkey nuts crazy on eBay, this is one of the looniest I've seen yet....only $174.99.....includes FREE SHIPPING, hope they pack it well! 🥸 https://tinyurl.com/ys8h62c2
  12. This might help..... And then there's this -3:07 shows the speaker.....
  13. I had it custom printed ages ago, I tried to find the seller (eBay), but it was too long ago.
  14. Yeah, I'm not crazy about how my 800 label came out, and I concur, that white 800 is really nice, the keyboard colors are top notch, I'd love to know how he did that.
