  1. This brings back fond memories. I got my Colecovision from Gemini Electronics by mail order in June 1983. £149 plus £2 postage. I'd been gazing at their advert (I think in Computer and Video Games magazine) for months before the launch. 😍
  2. Gave up on Retroblox/Polymega 2 or 3 years ago. Fortunalely I never paid them anything. Is there any real sign of activity at their end these days. Has anyone actually received their order recently? Most consoles have been superseeded by the time they have been around 7 years like this has.
  3. So now there's a PC app version coming. Nice idea in some ways but it veers off from the whole point, which is to have a console that plays on your TV. There will still be the console version presumably, but it's a no go area due to the way too high prices. I'll take a look at the app inevitably. Can't believe this is the same thing I was so exited about back at the beginning of 2016 (Yes 2016) when I was a member of their original Retroblox forums. Happily playing all my old games now on my TV on one of my fat PS2's. Still got an original pre-order one that still reads discs perfectly - only ever needed to clean out the original dried up white grease stuff from the disc tray runners and re lubricate with light oil. Got a second fat too - both owned from new and also dropped on a perfect slim with some unopened extras. Ah that new smell.
  4. I'll still only believe it when I see it and it's still obviously not what it was meant to be. I only learned of this new development becasue i received an email sent to a newer email address I subscribed to their updates with. My original email adress has received nothing (yes I've checked spam etc). Which supports what's happened to some whose orders have been lost - ie they've lost my original email sign up. In fairness, I may check Poly out again in 6 months when there should be loads of users out there.
  5. Just "unfollowed" this thread. Bye Bye Polyflop.
  6. "I will check in here in a years time when Polyflop launch will be just a month or two away as usual". I said that on May 31st 2020. OK so it's 11 days short of a full year - near enough. So here I am - and here the Polyflop is not. I've been off planet for 6 months plus in a way. Heck, even the Atari VCS thing finally appeared 4 months or so ago which I missed - early adopters seem unimpressed with it though. Just waiting now for them to reset their eternal teasing by saying they've rebranded, redesigned and are launching a new and upgraded Polymega 2. Any bets ? It's as far away as ever. Or more correctly it's as far away as NEVER.
  7. XBox S Series plus RetroArch in Developer Mode vs PolyMega Now that's got my attention !
  8. I say Tom-A-tow You say Tom-R-tow Lets just agree the whole things off..... ☺
  9. It seems to have become a pyramid scheme although not originally intentional. I suspect its now collapsed. Glad I never paid them anything and sympathy to those who have lost money.
  10. They have gone quiet on Twitter. They often seem do so after an announcement attracts flack as the streaming one has done.
  11. I do think though that had they stuck to the original FPGA vision but within the modules not the base and minus the hybrid emulation failure, maybe with delays, they would now have a monster hit on their hands. Analogue have proven FPGA is the way. That would have been more costly but would have created more custom. The overly high price now is to recover wasted spending.
  12. Zero commitment from Polyflop to further retro consoles support is an epic fail from my pov. Once the community gets hold of it sideloading roms will likely happen. Polyflop said somewhere that while they do not support that they will not seek to block it. But homebrew and side loading really needs a big install base. All very catch 22. The opening pages of this thread read much like the latest ones as do Polyflops posts on TwitFace. I will check in here in a years time when Polyflop launch will be just a month or two away as usual.
  13. All the delays have made me re look at the PS2 homebrew scene recently and it has developed well over these last 4 Polyflop years. I had overlooked it I suppose in expectation of RetrobloxFPGA then the Polyflop. So PS2 homebrew is where I am heading. No costs really. I have all the kit. It plays PS2 games oddly enough.....
  14. I have followed RetroPloyMegaBolx since early 2016. I was on their original forums. Streaming but no commitment to additional retro consoles and a stupid price..... It's finally over now. I am done with it. It might be interesting to check on it in year or so to see how long the launch delay is though. I don't do TwitFace or others but we know Poly read this thread. Bye bye to them.
  15. Makes me glad I have an original Megadrive and Everdrive. The prices make RetroGamePloyBolx a non starter though at this time.
