  1. The progress with this one is looking promising Jeff, and it's great to see you diligently working through bugs and glitches to ensure the finalised game plays to a much higher standard than the first Jagzombies, whilst taking on ideas from the community and potential buyers. Your efforts will pay off in the long run I'm sure. One request if at all possible, could you include a Dawn of the Dead Romero style/homage level set in the Monroeville Mall with Penneys in the background? Perhaps the looting bikers could show up too? Or maybe recreate that scene in the Projects in the opening sequence either on the stairwell when the blue faced zombies attack, or the basement where the deceased are kept in body bags twitching away? A bonus level perhaps - try to eliminate as many corpses in body bags as possible within a short time limit whilst a horde slowly stagger towards the screen? Maybe an idea for Jagzombies 3: Console of the Dead. ?
  2. There sure are a lot of keyboard Warriors round these parts. If folks have nothing positive to contribute, just ignore the thread, back out of it entirely, and by all means, have an opinion or critique Jeff's games in private, rather than constantly looking for conflict everytime he posts a comment. It's all becoming rather pointless and is little more than bullying to be honesty, as pathetic as it may well sound, that's really all it is. Constantly looking to criticise someone, stifling creativity, posting petty put downs is childish and frankly off putting in a community that should just grow, develop and have some fun. Yes, there have certainly been issues with some of Jeff's work which he has admitted to as a hobbyist programmer, and frankly, in an age where you can watch trailers and YouTube reviews/gameplay videos first, it's your choice to purchase his software at this point, so you really can't complain in the aftermath. What the past has to do with this thread in the present I do not know.
  3. Also, a boxing game/mini game on the Jaguar would still get my support, although I'd personally prefer not to see robots else it might look like a sequel to Rise of the Robots -something we could all do without. Perhaps it could feature some Kangaroos instead?
  4. Since you're definitely going down the road of the 'oddball' element of sports rather than just generic games, how about Unicycle hockey with elements inspired by Mutant League Hockey on the genesis for good measure e.g weapons powerups and being swallowed by sharks under the ice? Another great odd sports game I always enjoyed was James Pond and the Aquatic Games on the Genesis/MD. Perhaps there's some inspiration to be taken from there?
  5. Just had another thought, how about a summer beach oceanside themed Crazy Mini Golf game to take advantage of the 64 bit powerhouse? ?
  6. This is a great concept for a Jag game Jeff and could really work with the right roster/balance of mini sports games. Personally, I'd like to see some mini games similar to Clubhouse 51 games on the Nintendo Switch, such as their rendition of Air Hockey (although perhaps with a retro 80s neon look), Curling and Table Football or even better, Bubble Hockey (Super Chexx) style. These could work really well, with simple arcade controls and fun 2 player action. The other game I thought would work well on the Jag is a homage to Data East Windjammers. A glorified Pong in many ways, but really good arcade fun, especially with powerups, skill shots, collectables. The final game I'd love to see is a homage to Atari's very own Food Fight! It would be great fun throwing some pies in people's faces.
  7. This is looking great so far, and agreed has loads of potential. As a fan of the PopCap games like Feeding Frenzy, theres definitely space for a title like this on Jag! The key here will be getting the playing mechanics right to match the action (ideally rotary spinner/or mouse support) so there is decent, reliable non-sluggish grab action where every fish can be grabbed without frustration. This could become a genuine must buy on the Jag for arcade fans. A great effort so far Jeff! Keep up the good work and really focus on the mechanics of the action. A slick gameplay experience will be vital for this one.
  8. I would love to see a port of Batman The Movie and Parasol Stars. That would be brilliant to see. Any appetite from others for these? I'm sure Gaztee would produce superb looking game boxes, instructions and cart stickers for these classics too!
  9. The Paprium fiasco is a long story, but these are the facts: Indie developer Watermelon Games promises to release what was tipped to be a groundbreaking 80meg cart; a scrolling fighter much in the spirit of Streets of Rage. Crowd funded in 2013, and with a promised release date of 2017, Watermelon opens up pre-orders with huge uptake and success. Another year goes by, several excuses from developer claiming issues with PayPal refusing to release funds, chip redesigns, more coding, and Paprium goes into manufacture/release limbo and ongoing development hell. One year on, Watermelon, now headed up effectively by one guy after internal bust ups and departures, promises a launch party in Paris to coincide with Sega MDs 30th Anniversary Oct 2018, showcasing the game. All that is shown is a broken tech demo. A year later and still no game. Preorders were apparently huge for Paprium (for a homebrew anyway), but it looks like everyone's money is now lost despite requests for refunds. The link attached goes into more detail. Certainly wouldnt want to experience that scandal again, so for me, like you, pre-orders need to be based on a finished product, not an incomplete game built on best laid plans and dreams. https://papriumfiasco.wordpress.com/2019/05/29/fonzies-at-the-factory/
  10. As someone who was a victim of the whole Paprium pre-order debacle for Sega MD, I appreciate your honesty Vladr, and a thoroughly pretested product, good to go, bug free (as humanly possible) is the best way forward to create trust in your other future projects (still hoping for a Road Rash homage). I for one would be happy with a Spring 2020 release if it meant you hit your creative targets and quality control standards.
  11. Thanks VladR for clearing things up. The texture thing I must have missed. Apologies. Excited to see the full potential of this game, and hopefully it's a deep, playable arcade affair. All being well, what's the projected release window for this, and do you intend it to become a fully boxed cart, manual etc to purchase?
  12. Well done VladR showcasing your proof of concept. Without sounding too negative, as I appreciate the level of time, determination and dedication you must have applied to get to this point, how far down the line is this demo in terms of completion? The reason I ask is I share the same concerns as a few others regarding ship movement, the lack of movement to the road itself, the lack of texture and detail. If it's only 50% complete, fair enough. Is this the case, or is the game much closer to completion in your view? Just trying to ascertain how playable the experience would be as an actual game versus a tech demo showing possibilities and potential of your engine. Did anyone else get to actually play it? Also, what does this mean for a Road Rash themed clone? Is that now a non starter?
  13. I for one would certainly be interested in seeing this classic given the Jag 64 treatment and making it to cartridge. Lots of potential to give it a Minteresque feel I reckon. Hope it can materialise in some form at some point.
  14. Out of interest, is this project dead or still WIP given the focus on Saucers recently and Shark Byte? It certainly looked like it had potential!
  15. Like many of us, I have really been enjoying all the ST ports that have come our way and the quality of the conversions by CyranoJ have been superb. I for one particularly appreciate the quality of the cartridges, boxes and manuals produced by Gaztee! I wondered, other than the 21 games listed as either completed or work in progress, if there's plans to port others not currently listed? Personally, I'd be chomping at the bit to get boxed copies of Batman The Movie (especially with another anniversary on the cards), Parasol Stars and Lemmings. What are the chances of any of these being considered as port conversions? Thanks and keep up the fantastic work.
