  1. Just wanted to share my modded Microvision that came back from the US yesterday. Absolutely fantastic work, the games are so much more fun now! Thank you Richard for bringing our devices back to life.
  2. I agree, with the display-mods the devices are likely to become more popular end expensive. I got one factory sealed (still is) for 80€ two years ago, that should be impossible now.
  3. lol, for real? I thought everything was cool by now with 5-11under. Anyway, here's a screenshot: Like I said, I've probably misunderstood your post.
  4. Found the post: I've probably misread it and you were only talking about switching the backlight on and off. A brightness-control would have been nice, but I'm not complaining
  5. Oh, I thought it would be possible to control the brightness via the contrast-wheel on the back. Maybe it was only a suggestion by some users and I misread it.
  6. Definitely going to order the backlight-version, it's freaking awesome. Could you maybe post a video of how to do the install? Sending the device from Germany to US is just too expensive.
  7. Good thing you have your own thread now! ? Are you going to ship to Germany? $30 doesn't sound like a lot, but with shipping and customs it could easily double for foreign customers. Hope I will be able to afford two or three of these.
  8. Do you already have a rough idea of how much a replacement screen might cost and how easy/complicated it will be to install it? I would definitely take two, depending on the price maybe three, all backlit if the brightness can be controlled and turned off completely.
  9. @5-11under I don't know if this has been discussed yet, but do you think you could use the contrast-wheel on the back to control the brightness of the replacement LCD?
  10. I have a question regarding the replacement-screen: There are two versions of the Microvision, the original one that needs 2x9V batteries and a later version that runs on 1x9V battery. Does this make a difference for the screen?
  11. That's great, I can't wait for the final product. This will make the device so much more enjoyable!
  12. Hope I didn't spend money on a dead device. Anyhow, I would definitely like to take 2 screens please, if this thread is still open for orders.
