Hi! I have an old 15" Philips LCD TV with 4:3 aspect ratio (1024x768) and the 7800GD connected via SCART RGB cable. Unfortunately, every time I turn the console off and on, the TV sets the aspect ratio to 16:9 so everyting is squashed. I've found there's a pin on the SCART connector which tells the TV what aspect ratio to set: (This is from the TV's service manual.) Is there anything I can do or can the firmware be updated to set the correct aspect ratio?

For me, one of the downsides of the 2600+ is lack of support of the modern multicart solutions. But other than that, it's a neat little system and I do not regret buyng it.

I wish someone would sell the replacement labels in the EU. I retouched some labels and made a few reproductions from scratch myself, but having them printed professionally for a reasonable price in small quantities is the issue.

For me, the best solution currently available is the SubAVGCart. Apart from networking, it has it all.

A friend printed one of these for me, for the original 7800 (since mine had one of the pins missing), but the way it's printed makes the pins vulnerable to breaking off. So it did not last long. 😞

Once they (hopefully) get it to work on the 2600+, Rikki & Vikki is one of the best games for the 7800 and it's the most fun in coop mode.

Oh, sorry, it sounded pretty close to my version so perhaps Vin used my cover for the edit or it's just a coincidence.

Actually, I've never seen a PAL TV that wouldn't show the full 320x240 image. Not that this can't happen, but I assume it be pretty rare.

So I figured some things out with help of some skilled Furnace users and I added a bassline (and a snare drum) to a few patterns. Only about 9 orders are currently updated, the rest will be wrong. Spanish_Flea_updated.fur Spanish_Flea.mp3

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with Furnace as I only use RMT for my POKEY tunes. I tried fiddling a bit with the instrument editor and could not figure out how to set an instrument up it in a way I needed. Best I can do is send you some examples of what can be done with just two channels in RMT for inspiration.

It is a well-known technique and when done properly, you won't even notice. Commonly used on the POKEY and SID.
