There was a time when the word 'Atari' was synonymous with video games. People would play 'Atari'. That time was during and because of the success of the 2600.

Yeah, I was there last summer and kept seeing people walking around with 3DS's, I thought I was in crazy town. Then I figured it out. Duh. At one point my daughter got my attention, pointed at a guy and said, "Guy is in the Louvre rockin' his 3DS."
For your latest response - check your controller connection at the port. I found that most of my old controllers do not work with mine, because the connection is just not snug enough. They have a lot of "play" and are not making contact.

The mindset that only *new* games should have a premium price tag is what has driven the video game market to where it is now. EA needs you to think that way, but Mario Odyssey is not Madden 17.
"Protect" a viable piece of hardware from becoming irrelevant due to being easily emulated by a group that is profiting from said emulation. Atari and Sega aren't shutting down emulators for the same reason they aren't shutting down bakeries - doing so would not protect their business interests.
