  1. Hey... K convinced me to play this week. I've never tried this game, but I had a lot of fun messing around with it. This was my fourth try or so. ^_^ ~Me~
  2. I'm doing what I can to make it as smooth as possible. Unfortunately, things got rather nasty on RoM (Rantings of Madmen), and I decided to leave, rather than stay in a hostile environment. But I really do like it here, and I'd like to stay and be part of the community.
  3. I could download one. I had an emulator to play Centipede on, but K had the bright idea to re-install Windows on my computer without backing up my stuff, so it's all fucking gone. Fucking. Gone. But yeah, I could download Z26. Time-killing is a good idea. ~Me~
  4. Well, I *was* happy that I broke 200k, since I've never played the game before, but Spice, you make me want to be a better gamer. -Tease.- Maybe I'll play on the HSC more often. ~Me~
  5. I've never played this before, but K practically forced me to have a go at it, so after he left for work, I gave it a try. 171,900 on my third attempt, so I might pick it back up later. ~Me~ **Edited to fix picture size.**
  6. Again, I'm resurrecting an old topic, but I had to add my opinion. I think the Crash racing games were annoying, redundant, and stupid. Crash One was okay; harder than Crash Two, in my opinion. Especially because of the saving system. In Crash One, you have to earn your save points by collecting three pieces of a set when you open boxes in a level. That leads you to a bonus level, and if you get to the end of the bonus level without dying, you can save. It's easy in the beginning levels, but as the game progresses, it's harder and harder to save. Of course, you also get to save when you earn gems (rewards for completing a level perfectly, by smashing all the boxes), but again, in the levels towards the end, that's difficult. In Crash Two, there is a save wall in all five regular warp rooms (plus the hidden warp room), where you can save at will, inbetween levels. Much more convenient, but less challenging. Plus, if you die in Crash One, all the boxes come back, even those that you smashed prior to your checkpoint, so you have to do the level backwards if you still want your perfect, or you have to start over. In Crash Two, the boxes smashed before your checkpoint do not come back, even if you die. So, you don't have to constantly restart the level if you have trouble. After One and Two, the storyline and characters got rather old. I played Three a bit, but didn't find it engaging or interesting enough to bother finishing. ~Me~ **Edited to add my opinion on Crash Three.**
  7. I know this is really old, but since I'm replaying the game, I figured I'd answer. Even when you can't burrow underground, you can spin several times in a row to "kill" the bees. If you do this and run really fast, you can usually outrun them. However, they do come back after a short time, so you can't spin them and then just wait around. The earlier levels have one at a time, which is easy. The latter levels have five at a time, if I remember correctly (it's been almost half a decade, I think, since I played it). And, if you spin all five without getting stung, you get something. Either wumpa fruit or a life, I think. ~Me~
  8. Okay, after I practised a bit on my own, standard one-player, K and I had another go at it, and got 101,051. (Yes, we like playing Centipede at half-past five in the morning.) ~Me~
  9. Count me in. I'm still learning, but having a lot of fun in the process, so as long as I won't get laughed off of the board with my scores, I don't mind participating. ^__^ ~Me~
  10. Yeah, the attempt was short-lived. And muscles got very knotted in the process, I discovered. After watching K for a bit, I decided to stick to Centipede. o.o;; At least for now. ~Me~
  11. K's highest so far is 4,600. He asked me to post his score for him. ^__^ ~Me~
  12. Seeing as how it's only my second time playing the game, I'm happy I didn't lose all of our lives in the first minute or so. ^_^ Seriously, though, even though I'm really, really new to the game, it's fast becoming my favourite, and I'm working on picking up on it. I have a huge disadvantage compared to K, because I didn't grow up playing Atari games, I never owned one, I didn't even know anyone who owned one. I had never played any Atari games, ever, until I met K. (Well, I played a weird computer version of Space Invaders, but that does not count.) So this is all very new to me. How to hold a joystick is one of the main problems. Once I feel like it's more responsive to my movements (or once I just learn how to adapt to it), I know that will help my playing tremendously. And K is inordinately patient with me. -Beams.- ~Me~
  13. Maybe it's new propaganda to convince the public that UPS delivers at race-car speeds? ~Me~
  14. Wow, I can't believe no one has commented on this yet. If a car is available in pink, I would say it IS a girlie car! No matter what other colours are available... I laugh evertime I see a guy driving a Hyundai Accent! Some cars ARE girlie, the newer VW bug? girlie. I don't know about the DS, but I just got a black GBA Micro yesterday. Manly! Markimus of K. PS: I can't believe I read this thread... 952070[/snapback] I think, what he meant... is that if you took a '76 'Vette, and painted it pink... it doesn't mean all 'Vettes are girlie. It just means *that* particular one looks kinda girlie. (And why anyone would ruin a 'Vette by painting it pink is totally beyond me. K says we'd go with black and silver, and I totally agree. And supercharge it, of course. ^_~ ) ~Me~
