  1. Yes, that sounds feasible. Using SDL you could even go later for support of the graphics commands or sound...
  2. @dmsc once had this plan, with "Fast Basic" as outcome.
  3. If you like to have a challenge, what about natively executing (Turbo-)Basic in a console window? Of course supporting all hardware bells and whistles is likely unsupported (and USR/6502 emulation too), but it would be nice to have for e.g. data transformation tools or prototypes the possibility to just run the BASIC tokens natively (without emulation) very fast in a standard shell...
  4. ...so no need to grab those words out of the language bag?
  5. Raccoon City 😉 Irgendwer_RacoonCity.xex
  6. If the black contour of the tiles would have priority over the PMGs you could go back to full size while applying double width for the PMGs...
  7. IMHO the Lynx port is very well done...
  8. Mine was A.P.B. and a KLAX.
  9. That sounds more suspicious/unfamiliar to me than the other drive. Does the working drive contain a speeder/different firmware?
  10. Next is "Once upon a time in the RAM"?
  11. . ...and that's why I asked. To have a black background available in all 22 fonts you spend already more than a half page of RAM only for that without benefit for variety. Even if you level is 1024 chars wide you could use a much more conservative approach for font usage and only copy those representations to the char data you actually need for the section of the screen. Thoughtful planning of the resources is needed though.
  12. So where is the restriction when using one font on three character lines?
