  1. I had tried using that, but since it is only left and right, diagonals didn't work so I'd get stuck on a board trying to get out of a corner. I had done the STICK() too instead of the peek and it didn't seem to make much difference.
  2. hey, no problem at all, sounds like a cool game I'm going to try it out. And yeah, Rebound is very similar; mostly BASIC with a few ML routines. I tried Turbo XL and it didn't seem to help out with the joystick (but I also had to put in a delay to keep the speed of the game down). I'm hoping I'll have more control porting to FastBASIC.
  3. Hey @777ismyname, I'm not familiar with that title. It may have the same joystick code if by JD. I started porting Rebound to FastBASIC, and am about 3/4 done, just been a little busy.
  4. This seems pretty close to that description, a little over $100. https://anbernic.com/products/anbernic-rg353p I'm happy with the 4:3 screen, but it's not as big as the Steem Deck. Great device for emulation. I have just about everything imaginable on it via retroarch and android. The Daijisho frontend works great too. If the the next Steem Deck is lighter, I'll probably get one.
  5. This was the same thing I observed a few pages ago. I could only write out working A2 disks if I converted the .do/.dsk to scp in the HxC software and wrote it with a8rawconf.
  6. I spent a lot of time this weekend doing this and @Shift838's video was a lot of help, thank you! I only had luck with v9t9 images (90k) and the newer HxC converter software releases (non-stable) didn't work as well. I'm using a Panasonic 360k 5.25 drive with my TI99. I use a similar drive with my GreaseWeazel (and scp) I also don't have a twist cable so I had to muck with the --drive parameter.
  7. I managed to repair one of my Apple joysticks using a cap parallel to the pot as suggested, took a bit to dial in the correct value, but it is working great now. Putting these things back together is a REAL pain, so if taking apart take pictures. thanks everyone for the help!
  8. I'm using a Panasonic JU-455 disk drive along with a PHP1800 sidecar on my TI99/4a and would like to put the disk drive in some kind of housing rather than having everything exposed. I haven't had much luck finding anything that I could put it in. I do have a dual height Sun enclosure I use for my disk imaging, but it is MASSIVE (it has a power supply in it) and is 2 bays. I only need 1 bay and ideally it would not be so deep. I would just be plugging the cables in from the back (edge and 4 pin molex power). Any suggestions, including 3d printed options would be appreciated! Drive is very similar to this pic, my bezel is black.
  9. If it is of any help, this is the image I was using. I've done it a few more times tonight and it is pretty repeatable (using the same physical floppy). The converted to scp writes correctly, going straight from .do does not. mecc_computer_inspector.do
  10. It works, thank you so much! This will be very handy. Can confirm it also does work well in WSL.
  11. I am using version 0.94, which seems to be the latest?
  12. Sorry for the confusion, and thank you for responding! The renaming from .dsk to .do was necessary for the HxC application to load it and be able to convert it to an .scp. This wasn't something I was doing with a8rawconv. I was just trying stuff out, and it happened to work. I had initially tried writing a .dsk using just a8rawconv with the -if do flag and was unsuccessful. I then tried converting the .dsk to a flux image via the HxC app (but that only works if you rename it to .do). I was able to successfully write the flux image using a8rawconv. Then I was just wondering if there was something I was doing wrong in the more direct method of the .dsk straight to floppy via a8rawconv. If I can gather any logs/diags etc I can do that, just not sure how.
  13. Answering my own question as I've been tinkering a bit. I found a post on the HxC forums that said the HxC tool recognizes Apple DOS disks correctly if they are named w/ a .do extension. So, I renamed my .dsk, exported it as an scp using the HxC tool and was able to write that using a8rawconv! Glad to have it working, be curious to know if there is a way to go straight from .dsk to a floppy.
  14. I'm trying to write Apple ][ .dsk files to physical floppy. I had success with this and my .atx files, and on the SCP forums it seems this is the way to go for A2 as well. Not having much luck, so I want to ensure I'm invoking the program correctly: a8rawconv.exe -if do mecc_computer_inspector.dsk scp0:96tpi I'm using tested, good media (and have tried other disks as well) and am using this with an SCP and a 96 tpi 5.25 drive. The process writes out 35 [0-34] tracks, and erases 5 [35-39]. However, none of the disks I've tried boot. I've also tried using HxC to convert the .dsk to an .scp and writing that, same results. Hopefully, I'm just missing a setting, any help appreciated.
  15. Please, don't feel you need to do this at all or in any sorta time frame. I'm also a day/night dev and can relate, finding the energy at night to do the fun stuff with all the other things going on can be a real challenge.
