  1. Yeah, that's totally Odell Lake. Don't know what Game #1 is tho. 1) Apple Educational game where you had robots on four platforms and you had to answer math problems to get your robot to the end the fastest. Any ideas? 2) Another Apple II math game where you had to answer math problems, which, if you got them right, gave you bombs. Then there was a second arcade segment where you flew an airplane and bombed targets with the bombs you accumulated in the first segment. The arcade game segment was really well done, making me wish that was just a game by itself and didn't involve any math. 3) some kind of racing game for the Apple II with an elaborate introduction, featuring a large marching band leader and a marching tune, and he walked up to the top of the screen, and the title screen appeared along with your race car. The game was a lot like Enduro, I think, and might have been called Gran Prix, but can't confirm since I've never seen a disk image for this. I'd love to know the names of any of these. And on the other hand, I know the Apple II library very very well... if you have an Apple game you can't identify, I'm into having a shot at it.
  2. The System Rom and a lot of Game-roms have been dumped. Concretely by Guru and others. And by the way: MESS does emulate since the last release, the Super Cassete Vision too. But, where to find those Roms, that's a mystery... Yeah... I found a thread on this googling and looking for info over the past few days. http://www.bannister.org/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=57029 Amongst the repliers seems to be none-other than Nathan Strum!!! I haven't approached him. I wonder if he or anyone would be interested in my devious plans to pack-port a version of MESS to DOS with eSCV support.
  3. I actually have a certain fondness for Tooth Invaders for the Vic. I don't think anything is extremely valuable. Just fun to find. I think 4Jays has a lot of Vic games. Better/cheap-as-free to find in the wild tho. I think I left my old case of VIC games with my ex-girlfriend... I don't consider it a huge loss. Amongst the best games... Jupiter Lander Radar Rat Race Shamus ... and that damn chess game. Whenever I started winning it would crash!
  4. Along those same lines... Star Control III ... killed what could have been the most creative and fun sci-fi franchise in history.
  5. A lost CoCo 3 game? I'd be interested also if you find it, thank you!
  6. Just thought of several more... Kid Icarus (NES) Montezuma's Revenge (Apple II my personal fav, but the VCS version is great) Goonies II (NES) Bionic Commando (NES) Black Magic (Apple II) Konami Wai-Wai World (NES - get the US translation at romhacks.net) There's actually several NES games with translations that fit the description, particularly by Konami. They tend to be hard as hell. Most of them have translation patches. ... might think of more.
  7. Blaster Master for the NES is a good suggestion. I always liked Xexyz for the NES. and Guardian Legend... sort of a Zelda in Space type game. And along those same lines, Air Fortress for the NES is good too. I think all of these games have alternating shooter stages mixed with the adventure... but that suits my taste anyway. ... and there's always Super Metroid! or if you like a little Sim City with your action... Actraiser!
  8. Wow... what a thread! Strangely missing are any links to roms. I think maybe we should pool efforts and dump these.
  9. Hehe... yeah. It's good to know I'm not the only one in the world that appreciates this system. Probably the only guy in the world that has the roms is the creator of the emulator, and I'm willing to bet he dumped them himself. I'd love to beseech him to let them escape somehow, but for one thing I don't speak Japanese and assuming he speaks English and asking for favors would probably be rude. Additionally, that really breaks the golden rule in every emulator's readme (aka "DON'T ASK ME FOR ROMS"). So what to do?
  10. Here's probably the quickest and most concise description of this obscure console: http://darkwatcher.home.att.net/console/sepoch.htm So there's one emulator for this system, called escv (link needed, I think google will provide it). But i have searched high and low... there are no roms available for this system anywhere! (Not in a Tosec set, not on a a single shady rom site, not even in the most gigantic torrent anywhere). Anyone have any information of any kind on this system... or better yet, links to roms or interest in doing an emulation port? Is ANYBODY interested in this system? I'd love to play it.
  11. This subject makes me want to tell a story. -=MYTHICON=- a nostalgic memory rant by evil plant I have distinct memories of rummaging through the actual honest-to-god and somewhat-mystic "Bargain Bin" at KB Toy Store somewhere around 1984. Actually... it was more a bargain trough. And there were three. They were large (maybe 6ft x 3ft x 1ft deep) acrylic 'islands' right out by the entryway of the famous mall-toystore chain. All of these troughs were full of many hundreds of new atari games, rummaged through many times over hourly. I also remember looking at the price tags. Each of them was marked down multiple times (usually just by crossing out prices with a BIC ball-point pen). My 6-year old brain was amazed at this goings-on, and since my allowance was $1 a week, I knew I could make my meager savings count here. These were GAMES and in my brain at the time, and to a certain extent even now, games were GOLD. I liked space-ships. As far as my choices go, I didn't have much to go on except the picture on the box. And there were Mythicon boxes galore in here. Looking back, of course I should have gone for almost ANYTHING else, but this was all part of the disillusionment that I guess everyone went through that killed the Atari market, I just was a bit late. I made a small stack of games. One was Star Fox, and paid for it with dollar bills, the origin of each I remembered. Star Fox sucks, but I didn't fully realize this for several years. I tried to like it. My older brother kinda sneered at it and asked something like "You bought THAT?". "Yeah! They had lots of them!" - I'm pretty sure I said this back. My brother had played it before. He showed me the basics (kinda humoring me on how the whole experience wasn't a good one) and then turned the joystick over to me. I remember trying to complete the objective... getting the diamond or whatever from the bottom of the screen over and over for at least a half-hour, but even at that age... feeling that even doing something right was about the same as not doing anything at all in that game... in short, the game seemed pointless. Existentialism followed about a decade later. Oddly, I just bought the game again from another collector and should be arriving soon in the mail... amongst other (all better) games too just so you don't think I'm completely insane.
  12. I agree. There's probably some cashflow to be had quick if they can get the holiday carts available at least. I'm good for a Toyshop Trouble and a Stella's Stocking if they can (already have Reindeer Rescue -love it). And even if it's after the holidays, I'm hoping the it comes back up as soon as possible. I'm regretting putting off buying Thrust.
  13. Can't figure this out. I have two heavy sixer Atari (one with the cybertech s-video/stereo mod) and the other just plain found-like-it-was at St Vincent DePaul... I was lucky enough to find a Quadrun once, and paid dearly for Berzerk Voice Enhanced on an ebay auction years ago... But both do the same thing! When the voice part come on, it just chirps for a quick moment out of my TV. Quadrun: "Qua-. ... ..." Berzerk VE: "Chi.. ... ... . ...." ... this seems to be for all segements with voice. I think I even tried loading Open Seseme on my Supercharger once and seeing the same thing, but this is fuzzy. Anyway, this has been baffling me for years. What's the point of these showy games to guests if they don't work properly? Anyone ever seen this before? Is this a known issue with heavy sixers?
