  1. That was a change to the dumper, not to the experimental firmware. It should be addressed in the next dumper update. Chris.
  2. Yeah, after seeing the issue, my first thought was that it was an unknown hash, and was setting @450 via the auto-detect code. I will work with @DEANJIMMY, and ensure we are mapping it to Pokey@4000. Thanks, Chris.
  3. Ok, thanks for the feedback, will check it out. Chris.
  4. While it is great to hear everyone's input, this thread was specifically created to collect feedback on this experimental firmware for the architecture that is currently a part of the 2600+. Discussions of whether the Stella team is building a new 7800 emulator, or the fact that the 2600+ has been modified to run Stella proper would probably be great in their own threads (I think some of those threads already exist). Thanks, Chris.
  5. Likely, that switch is causing enough of a vibration to cause the cart to be detected as having been removed. Make sure that cart has a solid connection, etc. Chris.
  6. Where exactly did they say it crashed? During testing we have seen several cases like this. Most of the time there was one or more bad bytes in the dump. We are going to add the MD5 hash to the debug info in the next build (similar to what is displayed on the 2600 side of things). That way, if this does occur we can determine whether it was a bad dump, or something else. Thanks, Chris.
  7. Awesome work @RevEng! πŸ™‚ Now works in JS7800 (and soon 2600+): https://tinyurl.com/467c6ab8 Phoenix is a great shooter, a 7800 version would be incredible! Chris.
  8. I would definitely try another television. It looks like it is doing some post processing. Do you happen to have Game Mode on? Or any other video modifications? Thanks, Chris.
  9. Can you please capture the debug information at the top? Also, this is displaying at 50hz, so it could be television related (unlikely). I just ran it here, and it is running as it should (less flicker in person), so not sure why you are experiencing that (really looks like the older firmware as it is clearly missing frames). The debug info should tell the story. Apologies for the horrible video. Hard to hold the phone and play simultaneously... 😞 Thanks, Chris.
  10. Not sure I completely understand the question. But with the latest experimental firmware there shouldn't be any more disappearing sprite issues (that are inconsistent with real hardware). If you use the debug build, you can see that the frame rate the game is processing at (60 for NTSC) is consistent with the render rate (60 for NTSC). In non-experimental builds the render rate was hitting about 75% which led to disappearing sprites that are inconsistent with actual hardware. If you still believe there are issues with disappearing sprites, please let us know. But, it has been verified by multiple people that the issues they were experiencing in non-experimental builds have been resolved (as is reflected in the FPS being displayed). You also mentioned this previously, so it is important to make sure the disappearing sprites are inconsistent with actual hardware: The dumper doesn't have anything to do with disappearing sprites. That was an RA rendering issue based on the 2600+ hardware performance. The dumper issues will lead to cartridges that do not work correctly (either don't run at all, or have significant issues). Chris.
  11. So, if you look, it is being detected as 12k (FA), while it should be 8K (F8). My guess is this is similar to why Juno First and Medieval Mayhem broke for some in newer dumper versions. It is getting a false positive on the 12k (FA) detection that precedes the 8K (F8) check. In other words, I would stop cleaning your cart. πŸ™‚ Hopefully this will get resolved in the dumper. Thanks, Chris.
  12. Yes, those issues were discovered during testing and resolved some time ago. All of the Champ Games (demos) have been tested on the 2600+ by forcing the ROMs to be loaded. The issue at this point is the dumper. It currently lacks CDF and DPC+ support. Thanks, Chris.
  13. Yes, I am not aware of any issues that are emulator-related at this time other than: Control selection issues (Paddles vs. Joysticks, etc.). Some PAL carts may be running as NTSC (These are easy to resolve if they are reported). Thanks, Chris.
  14. Yeah, the sound issues are because it isn’t dumping correctly. It also had graphical issues. Hopefully that gets resolved at some point. Thanks, Chris.
  15. What were your problematic 7800 NTSC games or were they all 2600? Thanks, Chris.
