  1. First trailer, it's all pre-rendered CG cinematics, but it's got me hyped for the actual game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkdQg5H_G7A
  2. I think the sequel probably will get a domestic release in the United States. R-Type Tactics was announced in May 2007 for Japan, and was released there in fall / late 2007. There was no word of a U.S. release during 2007, if I recall. Then Atlus brought it over here as R-Type Command in May 2008. -- Now it would've been very, very easy for Tactics to have been passed over for the U.S. market, thus remaining Japan-only, but thankfully that did not happen. I say Tactics II will likely at least get a digital release over PSN in the U.S., even if the UMD isn't released at retail.
  3. R-Type Tactics II: Operation Bitter Chocolate (love the subtitle!) the sequel to R-Type Tactics, aka R-Type Command in the U.S., is coming to PSP in Japan, in both retail and download forms. http://psp.ign.com/articles/100/1008672p1.html http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3175351 http://kotaku.com/5325691/r+type-tactics-s...rsweet-subtitle

I expect every platform to get some form of SF4. from arcade to consoles to computers to handhelds to cellphones. just like different versions of SF2 was made for almost every popular, unpopular and obscure platform in the 1990s.
  5. No, I'm not the author, and I just started reading it myself.

  9. hahaha. but I'll get it even if it's not released in english.
  10. a turn-based R-Type strategy game for PSP. bet you never saw THAT one comin' did ya? I didn't.
  11. http://www.phantasystarwiki.com/index.php?..._Return_of_Alis GamePro July 1992 article http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/6806/mdcdpsivcs2.jpg SegaBase article http://www.eidolons-inn.net/tiki-index.php...egaBase+Sega+CD What a game that incarnation of PSIV would've been on MegaCD / SegaCD, even a cut-down cartridge version on Genesis. No doubt later, the full CD version would've appeared in collections for Saturn, Dreamcast, Playstation2, Xbox, IBM PC, etc. Dispite the vague decription of the story, I think it would've been a much better Phantasy Star than End of the Millenium. It's a shame this game won't ever be made. Even though Phantasy Star III was terrible in most people's opinions including my own, that does not, in any way, mean PSIV: The Return of Alis would have been a bad game. Phantasy Star IV: End of the Millenium while very good, had alot of faults, and as a result IMO, wasn't as good as II.
  12. well, even the Japanese were not able to buy this HD Bomberman then, or now. it was never released. they used it mainly to showcase HD.
  13. in Japan, they had HDTVs long before the Saturn was released in late 1994. Japan Broadcasting Corporation, or NHK started the development of HDTV all the way back in the 1960s! research & development continued during the 1970s. then experimental HD broadcasts were demo'ed - first satellite transmission of HDTV in Japan in the early 1980s using their MUSE system. by the late 1980s, Japan was producing HDTV sets. in 1991, the Japanese public got regular HD programming, they were getting 8 hours of HD broadcasts a day. this was Hi-Vision, the Japanese analog HDTV system. the U.S. developed their digital HDTV systems in the early 1990s, and it was not ready for the public until the late 1990s. so yes, Japan has had HDTV for many years.
  14. from what I have gathered display: 40 inch (more or less) Plasma HDTV converter: some extern module to convert to HD main system driving game: thought to be an NEC PC98 or PC88 variant. I don't know much about these computers plus some external module to convert to HD controller inputs: 1 or 2 NEC CoreGrafx II (they don't run the game, only used for player controller input) pads: CoreGrafx II pads another guy says it was just 1 CoreGrafx II and an external module for HD
  15. Hi-TEN Bomberman on a Plasma HDTV back in 1993 - the first HD videogame. This was a special prototype game shown a traveling Hudson Soft event called "Gaming Caravan", in 1993 and 1994. related thread: http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showt...i-ten+bomberman http://assemblergames.com/forums/showpost....mp;postcount=14 http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php...i-ten+bomberman Hi-TEN Bomberman was the basis of the 10-player mode in Saturn Bomberman (1996-1997), although after seeing this video, I can say that Hi-TEN looks MUCH better than Saturn's 10-player mode. Saturn's 10-player mode has TINY characters, a lower resolution, really looks very different than Hi-TEN. It looks flat & dull in comparison You could say Saturn's 10-player mode was a modified, downgraded version of Hi-TEN. So I agree with Nash's post from neogaf. note: there were actually two versions http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showp...mp;postcount=10 Hi-Ten Bomberman and Hi-Ten KaraBom from Hudson Summer Caravan 1993 and 1994. The developper is Katsuhiro NOZAWA. I had never seen Hi-TEN Bomberman in motion before today, we can thank Assembler from assemblergames.com for that incredibly rare video. Too bad it probably will never see a commercial release - this is truly the Holy Grail of Bomberman games.
