  1. Yes, the new ABBUC Mag is out. Don gave us his kindly permission to rerelease his game. Don, thanks again. The Mag is on the way to you... But you have to wait a little bit for the translation, my three month old son eats all my time ____________________________________ Hi Guys! Per my orignial request (posting) i.e 'This String', I would very much like a 5.25" floppy for my actual Atari-8Ware. ABBUC? Where is my Mag? Don....This still stands --> " This may sound like a far shot, but I would still pay $35 for the registered version and the chance to win $1000....ehh.umm? " ThanX! Glad 2B AtariAger37 today!
  2. You so have it! I think I can cram-up a few diskettes primarily comprised of my collection of Atari BASIC and Advanced -- type-in programs including a couple of my own MEM hungry 'routine-stealing' wonderments!.... Let me know where/how. I'm not ATR transfer ready....@ the moment.... *Am I too much into 8-bit Atari, suppose there is such a thing?? ....
  3. And that's all we're saying. If you want it for more than a certain amount, set a reserve. ______________________________________ Done - Brave Adverurers, BTW, "....some thought this was a wishing well...." ....here's a piece of gold and jug of rum fer' ye' my weiry friends.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=260221098072
  4. I may still have the modem board somewhere. I can't recall whether it's still attached to the board or in a separate bag someplace. My 1400 board never came with the floppy daughtercard, just the IDE-looking header for it. My stuff is scattered in different boxes as I've moved from apt to apt. Whenever I get settled I'll try to sell off or donate of some of the stuff I don't have time for, which will include the 1400. _______________ Hi mos6507! Thanks for your responses. Just for clarification, why would a 1400 have a floppy controller? For a Percomm perhaps? It can't fit inside, so is the 1450XLD just a duel-drive 'topped' 1400? The IDE header could also have controlled a Hard Drive? Okay enough Q's for now....If not too much hassel, would you mind taking a few pics of the 1400 stuff as your going through it and post here? Lovin' it Bro'
  5. A helpful AtariAge member and ebayer sent the following --> ___________________________________________ $27 for shipping? Just here to say when I look at Ebay Auctions and see $27 for some that should cost at the most $6 (what is it, a disk, a box... that does not cost $27) You appear as someone who doesn't mind selling at low costs because you will make it up with shipping. You don't want to appear that way, then at least make it possible for the shipping to based on the zip code the box is going to. Ebay has that option for sellers. Otherwise, hate to say it, you are looking real cheesy with that shipping rate. ___________________________________________ Hail Friend! I realize the shipping seems exuberant, but what do you want for a penny? I've already decided that I need @ least $22-$25 + ship it fast Worldwide or don't bother. If you didn't notice from this exlcusive AtariAge Post, You qualify to receive Aliants Retail Diskettes (excellent condition, no box, I'll hunt for manual). Ultima III is worth @ least $45, which is what I paid American Technavision back in '93 in new condition. Okay, so it lacks the cloth map, but it really isn't much help anyway. The game disk, and two ultra-crisp manuals are worth keeping then if nobody can give what I need for them. I'll leave the auction running another day or two, if no one is interested I just pull it. I know this listing sorta takes the fun out of it, while I agree shipping is $6 give or take a buck, I can't part with this item for a penny. I can set a reserve, but it's the same result. I Love everyone on AtariAge! Thanks for your thoughts.
  6. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=260221098072 Buy it & prove you're AtariAge and recieve Aliants! I Promise!
  7. Wow Ross, talk about retro. I was the DATA line type-in master, and the 1010 was the only chance I had of recording it. The number keys are the top line of key rows, so 10-key was done in a line (800XL).... Okay so it was a rainy day, but yeah I typed in Safe-Cracker, whoohoo, a room, a safe, clicks, and more #'s.... entry....1010 to rescue, I can load it again, ....ehh, why?....hummm...via 1010, well I just can! I responded because I typed in over 100 of those. I still like Skydiver, Lunar Lander I still have nearly 5 dozen of th0se 'type-ins' backed-up on floppy, backed from 1010. Have fun Friend! It's great when you type RUN and press Return, and.....
  8. I searched for a good string about the 1400XL, and there are to many un-answered questions. One rumour includes people returning them to a store after snagging them from the dumpster. Meaning that @ one point these units were sold to the general public....right? Another rumour mentions that to prevent the afformentioned, the units were defaced before 'dumping'. Yet another which is obvious is that inside developers kept what remained of them....? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Question 1. How many units were ligitamate and could possibly be in "Pristine" condition -- as sold through retail when it was available? On-that note: -> Was a retail 'marked' box for the 1400XL ever made? I know it could fit into the 1200XL retail, I'm asking about commercial markings..... (if so please post!) Question 2. The built-in 300 baud dial-up tele - modem was a leap for internal PC components, and an obvious attempt to take a pot-shot @ IBM as a ligit communications platform. ?? - Does anyone owning an actual 1400XL have a working internal modem? Question 3. Voice Chip. Was this an attempt to vcopy the C64 SAM?....Or was it 'WarGames' Ready? Can anyone with a working 1400 eXceL give us actual samples? Question 4. If this unit were in Full-Retail Box today, would you agree that its value might exceed $4400? Question 5. Do any 1400XL owners have their unit up-graded beyond typical specs. ?, If so what? __________________________________________________ *Curious Chris
  9. Dear Mr. Lebeau, I'm glad to see you were notified of this string via kid -- "Hey Daddy, I did what you said about the family tree and people say you made a cool game....!, that's what Google says Daddy...." --------------------------------------------------------------------- All this talk about core code is very interesting, .... but I feel we are drifting from the cause -- FUN! I used to cut my way through mountains to get an advantage. I used to un-leash a barrage of missiles just to sheild me. I used to use continued bolt fire to keep that 'ball blast sheild' I used to be killed by own 'ball blast sheild' (rarely) U can ground enemy flying craft, 'piss 'em off and dig-in' hehe I loved the saucer movement. I could actually evade almost everything fired @ me. No kidding! I actually loved the heated moments when I was running loops around them darned 'dirks, darrrkt, deeert, thingy seekers while fighting several flight craft firing powerful bolts back at me. And still love those lovely sphres that sprew-out that 'pep pep pepepepepepep" , the 'ditty-dots do hurt! I beat the demo upon a time without firing a single missile/flare or Tridex Once, I saved 99 Tridex for the last 9 levels, (yes, I replayed this more than a couple times....) The Tridex flash show was as Glorious as any Klingon exchange of fire ever seen, yet alas!, an enemy slipped through and shared a mistaken proximity detonation of a Tridex. Ouch! A bit brused, I hit the deck (ground) and while cutting with the Bolt gun I tunneled some earth, just above my position the enemy tried eagerly to get me, yet to his own demise -- as the bot could not plow such an extented path through the terrian.... Journal -- Avid Fan! Donald, I appreciate your presence in this forum, and for coming forward to accept due credit for an innovative gaming concept. And to all others that preserved this treasure. I haven't played the full version yet, yet so glad it isn't lost! This may sound like a far shot, but I would still pay $35 for the registered version and the chance to win $1000....ehh.umm? BTW, I dislike the flat UFO's that fire bolts the most....hehe Chris
  10. This one works great! The two parchments are crispy.... This is all I have left, but this disk DUZz do BOOTy. <pic Ultima III>
  11. Ahhhh, that boxy thing! I used-up my original 1010, yep, I used her up (nearly wore it out, but functional). I did everything I could with it as far as 'actual - recordable data storage/read/write/and even re-write....' What amazes me most is that the mechanizm did hold up, but the buttons (yep, all of them) were so broke that I had a special tool which I used to manupulate the initiators.... and continued to work long enough for me to get a 1050 and swap/backup everything! Though busted and used, it did back-up all tape data.... I really don't know where it or my prized tapes are since the theft, but I do have this --> <pic for 1010>
  12. Ouch Gunstar! Your Bad-AS$ 1200 is down eh? I feel for ya bro, my 256K 800XL needs a new antic chip I guess as it powers up but doesn't display. I messaged MetalGuy and his prices for repair seemed reasonable. About the emulator. Most of what I'm typing you already know, but plz follow.... You have four disk images for AR City, and character disk. In Atari Drives place and leave Disk 2 Side 2 in Drive 2. Just leave it alone after this. Use Disk one for the other three images. During game play have Disk 2 Side 1 in Drive One. You shouldn't have to switch or flip anymore till you use the char. disk, again in drive 1. BTW, by leaving Disk 2, side 2 in drive 2 when Rebooting or Restarting brings you back to the abduction screen, somehow acting as Disk 1, Side 1 in Drive 1. Dunno why, but kinda cool! There are also two sets of images for AR City, might try both.... Hope this Helps!
  13. Isn't Star Raider II the same as The Last Starfighter? Like MetalGuy, I would like to see the completion of the Alernate Reality series. Auto Dual :: I would enhance the graphics world to look more like Last V8. I don't think this would be too hard, as the enterface is similar enough already. Pole Position :: To look more like Elecktraglide. Strip Poker :: Add more babes / female opponents. Forbidden Forest :: Delete it from existence.... Midway Battles :: Option to allow for the complete destruction of enemy Navy, not just a point system. Gauntlet - by Donald L. Lebeu? :: Allow Tridex to be like seeker missiles. More screens and weapons. Silent Service :: Add the option to allow it to load into RAMDISK, thus greatly reducing in-game load times. That's all I can think of right now....
  14. My only functional 8-bit is an XEGS. The keys on the keyboard look like a smokers teeth which haven't been brushed for years....hehe, yeah you know the 'yellowing' effect I'm talking about. So the other night I had the 'bright' idea of brightening it up with 70% isopropal alcohol. Suddenly I realize that I'm actually 'bathing' it in alcohol! Ofcourse after what I believed to be a reasonable amount of time to dry, I hooked it back up, and much to my dismay it (keyboard) didn't respond. So I set it in front of a box fan overnight, to no avail.... It was is the only keyboard (8-bit 'puter) I have so I went about the task of disassembling it. After about 40 tiny screws later I realized the problem -- there was still alcohol between the mylar contacts. No biggy, so I dried and cleaned the 'membrane'. As I went to mount it I realized the cross-hairs didn't align into the circles, so I had to actually adjust this manually. okay done. Having not repaired a keyboard since the 80's I forgot that I couldn't flip the keyboard onto the mylar....ooopps, all but one of the rubber 'push-contacts' went flying all over the place including a few plastic key inserts. Finally after re-assembly it now works great, except for one thing -- after all that hassell the keys still look plaque laden. Argggg! Do I need to use bleech? What ever you do, be careful not to saturate your keyboards unless you are ready to go through what I did.... Peace bro's!
  15. The Modified 800XL was purchased from an Antic or Analog advertisement in 1985?. It’s a 256K upgrade with Snitch Switch, which could either be a 130XE with 128K, or an 800XL with 2 single density Ramdisk It “sorta’” worked that you could dump a single sided single density disk into Ramdisk and run it! This only worked with High-Tec Expressions software, despite trying most available commercial games. Right now the unit doesn’t display (Antic problem?). From the pics, I can’t help but wonder why the tech ran out of regular electrical tape.... It comes with a special Translator, Snitchy Switch, and Utility diskettes. 1 working XEGS console both w/ No Power Supply. The XEGS has a price tag = $99.89 reduced to $89.89. Tons of Misc. Software - I will assure the rarest and most treasured! @ least 20 double sided enhanced density disks packed with goodies! 1050 drive not included though recommended. Working XEGS could be used as spare parts for the 800XL. Two misc type working joysticks. Your choice of @ least one of the following commercial titles –> Aliants Alternate Reality Dungeon Auto Dual Bismarck Eidolen Forbidden Forest Ultima III Warship *more to be listed later* Anyway, I would like at least a Benjamin Franklin. Think it’s worth a shot on ebay? Here are some inside pics of the 800XL. Thanks for looking!
