  1. Same here... I watched about 1-2 minutes of a random spot in the middle. I just had a surgical procedure today, so the anesthetic has got me loopy and tired, so I will be checking it out in full later this evening. Thanks again.
  2. Thank you for the update, and all the hard work you have put into the project.
  3. There has been no update in almost a year.... Is 5-12-23 the latest currently out there??
  4. Firestorm, Any chance we can get the original WAV file, so I can hear the music that came on the audio track? I owned it back in the day when the 810 cost more than a 800!! Ahh the good old days, and I loved the Synapse games that had the music tracks to listen to while the game was loading.
  5. Well, if you believe in signs from above..... Len's sister was shopping for a suit for him to be buried in. As she was driving through the parking lot, this is what she saw.... "Len Blessed".
  6. Mods, A friend pointed out a typo I made in the date of death, in that I wrote 2014 instead of 2024. It will not let me edit it, is it possible you can preplace the picture ion my original post and delete this message?
  7. Wow JP, There were some things in their you posted that I had no idea about. Sadly, in the later days, other interests competed for time with my love for Atari, and I did not have enough hours in a day to dedicate as much time with Atari as in the past. However, that being said, I never abandoned Atari completely. Didital Daredevil (Ray) and I always had are 8-bits connected and would play Star League Baseball as well as well as One-on-One and a few others up until his passing in January of last year. I made a lot of great friends in the Atari computer that remained long after the 8-bit and 16-bit era had faded. The fun we had being all day to late night copy parties, to playing what we called "CB-Tag" will never be forgotten. CB-Tag was a reverse hide-and-seek if you will. It involved filling your car with gas, meeting at the local Burger King and one person going and Somewhere in the suburbs of Cleveland. When the person reached the destination, he would get on the CB, and let the group know to come find him. You would talk to the person on the radio, and triangulate on his signal. When the person was found, it was reported over the radio, and the group would gather at said location. Then the person that found him would be the next one to go and hide. We would play it all night long. until the sun came up the next morning. So much fun. It was great talking to you for over 2 hours and telling Len stories and catching up on the old times last night. Even though you are on the other side of the country now, do not be a stranger.
  8. I am sure he did, but I honestly do not know what his name was.
  9. Picture of myself on the left, Lenny playing the game, and Phil Chow in the back, shortly before he got diagnosed with cancer. Picture taken May 19, 2019.
  10. To any of you in the Cleveland area, or any of you world wide that were on the Atari Sig on the Cleveland Freenet, I am sad to pass on the news that Len Stys passed away earlier today. (Saturday, Day before Easter). I have to admit, after Curt Vendell, I don't know anyone who loved Atari as much as "Lenny" did. We have been pretty good friends for just over 40 years, and I am really going to miss him. He has had cancer for the last few years, and it really took a toll on him. He was pretty much down to skin and bones. He was a fighter, as I lost 3 very close friends, 1 being a cousin all within a month at the beginning of 2023, and he promised me he would fight to not pass away in 2023 as he knew what I went through. Len made me a sig-op in the Atari Sig on the Cleveland Freenet, along with Mark Leair and Phil Chow, Both of whom I am also good friends, and others like Michael Current (who writes and still updates the Atari 8-bit FAQ) who sadly I never had the pleasure of meeting. He joked with his sister just a few days ago that when he got to heaven, he would have the biggest Atari lab up there, and judging by what he had down here, There is no doubt in my mind he will. At my recommendation, he went to the same nursing home my mother is in, and I went to go see him every time I went to see her. I actually saw him last week for what would sadly be the last time, and he actually was doing pretty good, but sadly ended up back in the hospital with a low blood count. Je passed at the hospital at 7:40PM Eastern time (11:40PM GMT for our friends around the world). Please keep his family (1 brother and 2 sisters and their spouses and kids) in your prayers as he is reunited with both his parents in heaven. I knew his parents very well, and I know they are happy to be reunited with him for all eternity. Thank you for all the good times we had together my dear friend, and I look forward to seeing you again someday soon, but hopefully not TOO soon. Love you brother, Scott
  11. I did this as a 12 year old kid. Just put a paper clip or something small in the latch mechanism. takes 2 second, very simple very easy, and is not permanent.
  12. Thank you for the clarification.
  13. Question on the lost Atari models.... So I created a virtual 1450XLD for the first time, even though it has been available for a few months now. Too many other projects going on. Anyhow... WHen I use the 1450 TONG controller it gives me a message "Please Insert Disk, and close drive latch Or if you do not want disks, press return". OK, so the obvious question, is there a switch, or key combination to close the latch? I was thinking it might be under console switches, but nothing there. 2nd question....This is going WAAAAAY back... I vaguely remember reading that the disk controller in the 1450XLD was a lot faster than a 1050 drive. Trying the other 1450 disc controller, I really do not notice a speed difference. Sure, I could click on the SIO handler, and get the near instant load times, but I want to play with a system close to the original. I also noticed the regular controller does not have the loading beeps. Is this normal??
