  1. Was feeling wistful so I read a few past mgc threads so This one goes out to all the 2013 attendees. Shout out to gamezombie.tv, looks like MGC still exists whilst you do not
  2. Dunno how I missed this, especially since IIRC you had it in the NA room and that was right next to our benheck show/modding/hackerspace room. RE: The venue, even though there's hardly any space to move sometimes, I love the Sheraton Location. My health is pretty garbage and it's convenient to just walk down the stairs/take the elevator and be right in the middle of everything instead of having to walk/drive even across a street. I doubt they will change locations until a hybrid hotel/convention center is built, especially with the late night/afterparties. Probably Typical Wisconsin but I'd figure the DUI rate would quadruple.
  3. Any thrift stores in the area that might still have CRTs? They stopped accepting them at goodwill in December out here. It sucks cause I used to just buy one on the way up and donate it back on the way down. also looking for a circle pad pro to hack to bits for my 2DS
  4. I'll be on the lookout for a Harmony Cart, or whichever is the most ideal now for the Flashback 2. Also some Wonderswan games; bought one from the dude that wasn't Madgear, and then got bogged down with event stuff and didn't make it back into the "temporary structure" (Dan gave me a stern dad-lecture when I called it a tent ) at all on Sunday. We'll be running the Benheck Experience again, most of the same stuff as last year, 3D printing all weekend and a few new projects and portables, (hopefully) fixes, etc. I'll have two Flashback 2's up on display, one toploader and one frontloading, and hopefully some pre-wired kits. We're also a part of the VIG Friday night show too where we will try to build a Nintendo on-a-chip portable almost completely from scratch from 6pm to Midnight.
  5. Can someone explain what exactly is closed here? Is it just the ramps indicated in red? I'm coming from Chicago taking 294/94 to 43/894/back to 94, but if that ramp is closed I suppose a better option is going 94 to 43 directly to S. Moorland Rd, skipping 894 altogether?
  6. The problem with these screens is that they are produced so cheaply and in mass quantity that it's impossible to tell what kind of screen you are going to get on terms of quality and functionality. Some people have ordered bulk screens (10-15 at a time) from one seller's listing and received 4 or 5 different motherboards. I've also come across many screens that have issues working only on Sega products as well; either a single line of doubling interference or just refusing to display a picture at all. One even only showed a picture during the split screen Sonic 2 demo and nothing else. All those screens work flawlessly on any other system not by Sega (which of course was the only reason I needed them) I don't think anyone's bothered to find a "fix" for finicky screens like this. By the time someone could figure out what the problem is there would already be 2-3 different board revisions by then anyway, which is pretty much the reason nobody have perfected S-Video out on these yet. Since you only need 1 screen I'd suggest just to try again. When I was having trouble finding suitable screens I went to dealextreme instead of ebay, sorted the search of 3.5" TFT by "Latest Release" and browsed backwards for a screen manufactured from 2012 or before.
  7. Pm Sent on the 360 shmup imports and some game gear stuff
  8. I liked Pac-Man World 20th Anniversary.
  9. I rarely drive steamboats, Dad.

  10. Just wanted to bring up Repairs again before heading up to the show tomorrow. We'll take a look at anything pre-PS3/XBOX 360 era, we just don't want to spend the entire show diagnosing YLODs and RRODs. Might consider looking at Wii's depending on the problem. No CRT's either, sorry, they are extremely volatile and a hotel room really isn't the place to be messing around with that. Nobody wants to miss out on the MGC fun on account of they are now dead. Other than that we'll have some cool stuff going on; Nomad Screen replacements, maybe internal battery mods if USPS plays nice, NES2 Toploader A/V mods and kits, a 64Drive and N64 Video Convertor display (running VGA atm, will eventually get HDMI support but a board revision is needed first IIRC) and some portables and other mods to play. Should have a Flashback 2 cart port mod set up, and have a wired cart slot or two for kits. A 3D printer will also be on hand so come check out some demo prints. We'll be operating as the Benheck Experience featuring the Portables of Doom in one of the cannibalized hotel rooms. Come by and say hi!

  12. Pretty neat but I would still rather be alive.
  13. MGC! If anyone has any consoles that are broken, we'll be doing troubleshooting and fixes again in the "Benheck Experience" area. Anything Pre-XBox360/PS4 Era we will gladly take a look at, just leave a post on what console and what the issue is for us to do a little research on possible solutions before the show. (Event Location is still TBD)
  14. Bought 2 import Saturn games from Austin, good price, quick shipping, and immaculate condition.
  15. I'm interested in DoDonPachi & Batsugun on the Saturn if you still have them. Shipping cost to 60440?
