  1. 100% true and I agree, but in truth, EVERYTHING today is designed to separate you from your dollar (not just the post lol). Now get off my lawn! 😁
  2. Well...not a fix but something they (ebay) should have done YEARS ago. Printing shipping through ebay is discounted, but now they're going to show the ACTUAL shipping cost on the label. Automatically. So when these scam artists charge $15 bucks to send something ground delivery for $7 bucks you'll know and can leave feedback appropriately. A few bucks to cover...tape, ink, or whatever sellers were trying to justify a 100% increase on shipping will be essentially disclosed now. Yes, blahblahblah only bid the highest you're willing to pay but I've said it many times, if the shipping is $10 bucks, you can't justify $20 to ship it, even if it comes out to the same price with free shipping. Regardless of the "net" you're being deceived by the seller. It's about time!
  3. I’d like a copy. Is there a site to go to or PM?
  4. Ordered! Looking forward to playing.
  5. Berzerk enhanced from Atari- worth it? Yay or nay? Voice added - yes, diagonal firing robots, yes…any other enhancements? I’m seriously on the fence. At the end of the day except for 2 (tweaks), dropping $40 bucks on a game I own, have a sd card With the original and a few

dozen hacks already…I’m almost just buying it to “collect” is then gameplay worth a new copy?

Me personally...the added voice/diagonal firing and a slightly higher resolution. Only if you are a Berzerk fan. The speech isn't that clear.

Yup, worth it. I got a copy for myself and recently drop-shipped a copy as part of a trade and both of us love it.

Thanks for your input fellow Atarians. I pulled the trigger! The 15% didn't work :(  But that's fine. I have ten games coming from the AA store, so Berzerk (and Mr Run N Jump) make an even dozen coming! I see an all Atari day or weekend in the near future!

  6. Yeah I'm with you. This has been a long time complaint of mine. Ebay seemingly *tried* by including the shipping cost with their fees. Unfortunately it did little if anything, sellers are, to this day ripping people off. Ebay needs to show somewhere how much the actual shipping cost is versus what the seller charges. When an item says $16.44 shipping, that means the stamp cost that much, with a buck or two for....whatever reason. But that's hidden. This "shipping and handling" bit is crap. Boxes are free everywhere. Everything is delivered to your home anymore whether it be Walmart, Amazon, etc...tape and ink are cheap. I always been ok with a buck or two, but making the shipping cost 2-3X what it should be is a joke. US post rates really aren't all that terrible. I have 2 2600 units packed and ready to go for someone. The shipping from S Florida to New York is $11.53 for UPS delivered in 4 days, USPS is $11.54 for 5-7 day. No need to rip anyone off.
  7. Absolutely worthy. It was INSANE how good Pac-Man was...remember the prior version for the 2600...not so good. Galaxian and Pac-Man were great, even though Galaxian looked different it was still sharp, crisp graphics (sound on that game was lame though) and fun to play. I think the pack-in and launch titles were a huge part of why it didn't do so well. Had Atari included Pac-Man I think much of its' fate would have been in better shape. Fast forward a few decades everyone speaks to how the 5200 was mostly recycled arcade titles. But that's what everyone wanted in the early 80's! Every new game that came out was SOOO much better than the 2600. Defender was ridiculous. Having BOTH fire buttons AND the keypad for hyperspace...no looking away to hit the space key on the computer version anymore and losing a life in the process (One of my buddies had an 800). Centipede with the trak-ball is one of THE best home ports of any game imo. Spot on graphics, and a damn well put together tb controller - it was heaven. Yes...blahblahblah controllers. I honestly never had a problem with the non-centering. I just learned how to push it back to center. The fire buttons did break/wear down often. BUT the first year it a covered repair at the Atari service center literally minutes from my house. After that it was 5$ bucks. Never really was an issue. That's not all to say it was *the* best system (to me it was...still is). Atari itself killed the 5200. I remember it seeming like it was the red-headed step child to the 2600. Colecovision and 2600 ads aplenty, but not much for the 5200. Coleco touted it was backwards compatible with the 2600. As was the 5200 with a separate adapter you had to purchase. But Coleco capitalized by getting theirs out first. It really is a shame when you realize what the future would have held. Blaster, Tempest, several awesome games that never made it to store shelves. Atari seemingly at some (early) point decided F! it, and wrote the system off as a loss and only released stuff already completed and fizzled. But it definitely was worthy of being called a super system.
  8. Yeah I'm usually of the opinion the 5200 controllers are actually great, but some games not so much. Miner is one of those. The drawback to using a regular 2600 stick is the levels with the teleports where you need to press a number on the keypad. I find it extremely difficult to look away to press the "2" and not loose footing or get otherwise killed.
  9. Wow someone is REALLY going hard with selling the last chance games on ebay $500 bucks in some cases.  Eff'd up.

But you know that some people will pay it.  Baby Pacman 7800, $310 US plus $40 shipping.

There were 34 bids starting at $60, so there are a lot of folks out there willing to put in a bid at these inflated prices.

  10. Bump for the 2600 units - Gonna try ebay if nobody is interested. As always prices are negotiable if my ask $$ is too high.
  11. Lighten up francis. My comment was not replying to yours. It was replying in jest to someone I've known via this group quite a many years. And seriously? Threatening me over the internet? Cheers pal. PS....You'll NEVER hear me say "thank you for your service" to an internet bully. Zero need for threats and personal attacks
