You are SMILEY PUNK, the elite HACKER FACE. 

Use your Atari Video Computer System to access the virtual reality matrix and steal data files from powerful megacorps. 

As your mine more data, you will proceed deeper into the system. Encryption and security will increase, and the colors of your display will change.  

Demon robots will try to stop you. Other hackers will challenge you. Tipula data carriers will report you to the Sysops if they escape.

Your current decryption progress is represented in the bottom right of your display. Data pills and cash logos will decrypt 1/8 of your current level. Destroying an entity with your data missiles will decrypt 1/32 of the level.

Smiley's extra lives are shown in the bottom left. You cannot earn extra lives, so after 4 deaths you will be booted from the system.

Your score represents the cash you make selling your mined data on the blackmarket. Destroying an entity provides points equal to the current level. Data pills are scored at 4 times the current level. Cash logos give 255 points if you grab them.

Smiley is a hacker punk; she will trash the system every 4 levels with irreverent grafitti. This angers the sysops and increases the difficulty.

Lurking in the net is your arch-rival, the mysterious hacker known only as "The Bunnyman." Nothing is currently known about this entity.
