Pow-Wow

Today was the annual tribal pow wow and I decided to drop by as I usually do. Since we are trying for statewide recognization this year, it seems as if things are starting to look up. The general mood among fellow Abenakis has improved. It seems as if the tides are turning in our favor so I'm hoping it goes through without a hitch. About time the folks in this state realized just how long we Abenaki have been screwed over by the state. It's been too long.

going to the cabin

gah... today is Robot's birthday. I'm going up to the cabin soonly.. well, maybe not. Laura was supposed to be here about half an hour ago. So, I called her house and i was informed that she was still sound asleep and had told her family that she was leaving around noon... grrr . she really likes sleeping. but now she should be here in about another half an hour. I found a very unique LCD game for Robot at Salvation army. It's shaped like a stealth bomber and in the back of it is the display. i

What a nice weather

Currently we have really nice weather in Germany. It's pretty hot and a good time for open air bath and barbecue. That's one reason why there is only a little frogger progress the other reason is that I have been on vacation for a couple of days.Today I found some time to do little bug fixes and implement the fly.So I think there are only two game elements left: the beaver and the snake.Well even if they are implemented there are many other things to do but I guess the game should be finished this

Played Turok 2 demo

Hi folks   I found Turok 2 demo on a cd-rom magazine and I gave it a try.   While I have no problem to activate all the 3 distresss beacons, I noted something's wrong with this demo.   After I saved a second child and activated a switch, the new teleporter brings me back to the first position at the begining of the game. I guess the demo is incompleted.   Unless somebody tells me I missed some parts, I should not bothering to complete the demo.       Robin Gravel

Need a 2600 fix...

I sent out another 2600 to be A/V modded by keilbaca and I'm anxiously awaiting it in the mail. I guess playing the 2600 that I got for my brother just reinvigorated my interest in actually PLAYING the games, as opposed to just COLLECTING them. ;)Speaking of which, my brother is happy with his 2600. He will be getting some more games courtesy of McGrail, who offered to give some games for free. I don't know why I bought that 2600 for my brother, but I'm hoping he will make good on his promise to

Cubs moving in positive direction

Finally, things are working in the Cubs favor. They get a stretch where they play 7 games in a row against 2 of the worst teams in the league at Wrigley Field. Todd Walker is back in the lineup, that will deepen the bench. Dempster has converted 4 straight saves as closer, this is stabilizing the bullpen, and the starting pitching has been absolutely outstanding these past 3 weeks. With some steady wins they can hopefully secure 2nd place in the division by the all-star break. Catching the Cards

7800 WIPs

A game that looks a little like qbertSpent a lot of time fixing prior bugs that didnt surface until trying to add Ugh and Wrong Way. Ugh now works (still needs a litle polish) but Wrong Way is not cooperating. I also have not settled on a name yet. I have been just considering calling it "Q". I did manage to implement the PAL detection since I got tired of fiddling with Wrong Way,Beef DropI keep putting off adding the final touches to beef drop. It probably could be finished in a couple ho

Sold a CC2

Well, I sold my CC2 tonight. Kind of sad as I lost a few dollars on it. However, I feel I still received a decent price for it considering that Chad Schell did a second run. Would have liked more but that's the breaks.I had originally purchased two CC2's. The second being a backup in case the first one tanked on me. I was hoping it would hold its value as well. However, I'm actually glad there is a second run. The more development carts out there the better.I have no sob story for selling my spa

Stop cutting down the woods!

One thing that irks me the most, is how people are constantly chopping down woodland here in Vermont to build luxury homes. I saw in the paper today that they are dividing up a plot of land called Shelburne Point. It is almost like an island, and has lots of lush wilderness and beautiful views. It also has multi-million dollar homes and now they want to build more. Why can't they just leave the land alone and find an empty field that's no longer being used for agriculture? I don't care for loo

Crap, Crap, Crap and Crap

I’m in a bit of a gaming rut. I’ve got loads of games, but nothing to play; nothing that’s grabbing me.I bought four games recently. The first I dove in on was Vice City, which I don’t find as great as everyone makes out. Okay, so you can run around and kill people in a frenzy of power over digital life, but when couldn’t you in a videogame? The mission difficulty gets ramped up pretty early on and the ‘plot’ is pretty, well, crap.Secondly, DOA: Xtreme Beach Volleyball. No volleyball (xtreme or

Where my Atari Stuff Sits

Well, its been a long time since I've done any game development or vcs graphics editor development. The Atari games are put off indeffinitely. It's a shame too, because I get a message every now and then from KC-135 pilots asking to play EB's KC-135. Now that the Flashback 2.0 is coming out, it would have been really cool to have that ready. My Qudditch game is also on hold, though its pretty far along on paper. Its basically a 2600 version of table-top hockey. Then there's my VCS Graphics editor.
