The truth about SMURFS?

I had a vision. A Thumbelina-sized Jesus riding on a cracker, as if it were a tiny rigid magic carpet, lifted his man-dress to show the tattoo on his chest. Here's what it looked like:   Satan's Minions Unceasingly Recruiting For Socialism   Thumbelina-Jesus flew up to my ear and said that any people who love the SMURFS better repent before 2012 or they will burn in the lake of blue fire forever. Save yourselves! Repent before it's too late!     Random Terrain _

I would love to make a Beach Head inspired game

I would love to make a Beach Head (Commodore 64) inspired game for the Atari 2600 based on the part between 2:34 and 5:14 in the following video. It will jump to the spot I'm talking about when you play it:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr9dhIH7wWU&fmt=18#t=2m34s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr9dhIH7wWU&fmt=18&start=154   I'm not good at math or physics, so it might be tough figuring out how to get the shots to act right.   I'd also love to do something similar to the par

Commodore 64 Ghostbusters

I still remember the first time I saw Ghostbusters on the Commodore 64. It never felt like a real game, just a mishmash, but it had speech! Any game back then that could talk was automatically given extra bonus points in my mind.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXpl1bUm6RY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXpl1bUm6RY   This game is a part of my past and I'm glad to see it on YouTube. Great for memory stimulation.     Random Terrain .

Got my Magic Chef refrigerator

[This AtariAge blog setup is easier to use than other things I have tried, so I'm going to start using my AtariAge blog again.]     Merry early Christmas to me! Got my Magic Chef Refrigerator!   I got one of those small dorm room refrigerators back in 1989. Then I sold it and got a larger version (Goldstar GR-131OW) that had a small freezer inside of the refrigerator about a year later. I think it's probably 4.6 Cu. Ft. if you can go by the small refrigerators sold today. I just checked and

Probably won't use this blog any more

Every couple of weeks or months when I feel like commenting on current events and it doesn't fit one of my existing web pages, I'll put it here:   http://www.randomterrain.com/weblog.html   Update:   I'm going to use this AtariAge blog again. It's easier to use than anything else I have tried.     Random Terrain _

Why can't a Black man win?

The last Apprentice of the season was on last night and Randal, a black man, finally won. And guess what? Trump wanted him to let a white woman win with him. Yeah, we can't possibly let a black man win all by himself. Every other time there was one winner. And not only did Trump soil Randal's win, but he dragged him into it so now Randal looks like a jerk for not wanting to share his win.   Everyone who is angry at Randal should focus that anger on Donald Trump instead.     Random Terrain

How Real Time Travel Works

I was cleaning out some old links and thought I would post these in case I need to delete them from my web site. It's a couple of time travel related links that I pretty much agree with:   http://discovermagazine.com/2001/sep/cover     http://avenarius.sk/walsch/cwg3/06.htm     Random Terrain _

Stuff worth having

I started this in someone's holiday wish list thread, so I thought I would put it in this blog before it gets lost in the depths of the forum sea. I'll add to it over time so that I will have an updated reminder of the things I plan to own sooner or later:   New house SETS Systems Electric Tankless Water Heaters Tempur-Pedic Adjustable Bed Recumbent Exercise Bike VersaClimber Life Field Polarizer (have 2, but would like 2 or 3 more) Solarizer Beamer Ancient Secret of the Fountain of You

Reality show joy

One thing I like about certain reality shows (I only like a few, most suck) is when a crappy person finally gets kicked out. I was really happy to see Markus get fired on the Apprentice a while ago. Even after being fired, that clueless doofus still doesn't get it.   Today on Survivor, the fat guy with a beard (Judd or Jethro or Jim-Bob or something like that) got voted out. He said before the vote that the one who gets voted out should get over it because it isn't personal. Then after he was

Tecmo here I come

I got my Amazon.com money today, so I'm going to buy Tecmo Classic Arcade for Xbox tomorrow. After all of these years of waiting, I'll finally get to play a good working version of Swimmer. I'm sure I'll like some of the other games, but Swimmer is the main game that I have been waiting for.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fxn4qeB5AFc   Now all I need is the Commodore 64 game Toy Bizarre in a collection for the Xbox or 360.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2o4IGHi4Ww       Update:

Wham-O Magic Window Found

The Wham-O Magic Window that I had was a thin clear plastic oval container filled mostly with white and blue sand-like material. It was kind of fun for limited amounts of time and I wanted to know the name of it, but I couldn't find anything about it since I couldn't remember the name of the 'toy' or the company that made it. We finally found it today. I read that Wham-O might make it again if they get enough requests.   Related links:   http://www.timewarptoys.com/toys.htm   http://en.w

My eyes are up here, lady!

I hope someone creates pants for men that have a little adjustable opening (not a zipper) that shows part of the tubular treat for trollops, but not the tip. I've heard the lines, "my eyes are up here" or "my face is up here" from woman on TV about a million times concerning their upper frontals and it would be nice to hear guys say it to women for once.   Let's see how long woman can keep from looking down. I wonder how long it would take until they finally gave up and said, "OK, OK, look at

Law & Order: Criminal Intent D'Onofrio lookalike

I watched Law & Order: Criminal Intent this morning and there was an actor on there, Michael Gladis (the guy who got punched in the face), who looks a lot like Vincent D'Onofrio. You'd think he was Vincent D'Onofrio's younger brother or cousin, but I don't see a connection using Google.     Random Terrain _

The kid from Big on NUMB3RS

I just saw the kid from the movie Big (Young Josh) on this week's NUMB3RS. He's just as goofy looking as he was when he was a kid. The appearance isn't listed in the IMDb, but that's not surprising since many things don't end up listed there.     Random Terrain _

Criminal Minds Pac-Man sound

I watched Criminal Minds from Wednesday and there was a woman 'playing' a hand-held game and they used adapted Atari 2600 Pac-man sounds for it.   How many years are we going to be haunted by Atari 2600 Pac-Man and Atari 2600 Donkey Kong sounds? Isn't it past time for the people who sell these sound packages to update their stuff?     Random Terrain _

Bush deserves the benefit of the doubt?

I turned on MSNBC today and Newt Gingrich said in a sound clip that Bush "deserves the benefit of the doubt that he's picked the right person." Since when does Bush deserve the benefit of the doubt? When has he been right about anything? When did he earn anyone's trust? He has repeatedly earned our contempt or at least our distrust. At one time I was as close as you could come to being a Republican without being one, but Bush cured that.   Harriet Miers is just one more mistake in a string of
