#10. I'm not saying much right now because I can wonder if I can get an efficient code for what I want. I did drop a clue which you can view here: http://videopac.nl/forum/index.php?topic=2413.0
And here's another clue: It features a character I tried to get in an Odyssey 2 game earlier, but I want the game play to be totally different. I got 4 games in the mail today, so I am really glad because they all work. One does have issues though, but I can get it to work if I try hard enough. I was bu
So magazines are supposedly useless now when anyone can just go to the internet and get humor. Well, try telling that to Nickelodeon. Nickelodeon Magazine is returning to the newsstand.
The issue will make its debut sometime in late June. The old one ceased publication with the last issue made December 2009/January 2010 issue. I used to have issue 1 of the original Nickelodeon Magazine, but I don't any more. I was a subscriber when I was a kid up until about 1999 or so. While it isn't Nintendo
I should really work on this more frequently. I last did it a month ago. There's only so many weird background pictures and videos. Perhaps I should hold a contest for this as well. Right now I'm about 25% done. (4:30 out of a possible 16 minutes), but it's more than 25%, since the last few minutes will be the credits. It takes about 30 minutes for each 30 seconds of footage inserting enemies, the corner thing, positioning the target on the enemy, and repeat. Here's what I do explained further f
Today is December 14. Things are looking good today. Apparently it is supposed to snow today. They're expecting 1-3 inches today, but I'll believe it when I see it. But even if it doesn't snow, I'll still be happy. I just ordered High Seize for the N-Gage. It's brand new. Brand new and will probably stay that way. I spent a ton of money, but it was under $100. Probably the most I've spent for a single game. And apparently it's supposed to come next Wednesday. It's my greatest present I ever got
How come all the good Nintendo DS games come out later this year? Star Fox Command, Mario Hoops 3 on 3, and especially Yoshi's Island 2. My frothing demand for this game increases. I loved the original and wanted a sequel. Since the original Yoshi's Island was Super Mario World 2, does this mean that Yoshi's Island 2 is Super Mario World 3? Well, anyway, apart from making Mario Bros. 2, I've been slacking off on making Batari 2600 Basic games because I don't have any ideas. Just bought Brain Age
In this .bas file, (bank 3 is the one I'm working on right now), v represents what level you're on. To proceed to the next level, I put in v=v+1 once you get the treasure. But after the last level, I put in 'if v>16 then goto 4 bank1' (the title screen), and it won't work. I've tried putting it in various places, and still nothing. I put in 'if v=17 then goto 4 bank 1' and that didn't work either. It's like the stupid program won't listen to what I'm telling it to do! Argh! Anyway, help!
I just did episode 3 of my YouTube series: "The Atari 2600 Homebrew Review Show." It's not a very long show, in fact, with the exception of episode 1, run an average of about 7 minutes. The time limit for videos on YouTube is ten. Well, anyway, episode 2 is Squish 'Em, which you can view here. Episode 3, which I just taped, is of Elevators Amiss. Whaddya know? Two Bob Montgomery games in a row. Anyway, I plan to do episode 4 about LadyBug next month. And I haven't put episode 3 up on my page yet
OK, finally figured out how to make a double digit level counter. Took a HELL of a long time (at least three hours) of shifting code around and trying various things. But it's finally in there, so now I can work on mainly level building now, that is, until I run into another problem. So right now there's ten levels, and on level ten, it actually says "10" instead of ":" (a colon is the Odyssey2's code for the hexadecimal value of 0A, ten in decimal number). Programming this system is superhard!
I think I know why they call it Ruiner Pinball. My right thumb hurt after half an hour of playing the Jaguar game. Nevertheless, after like a dozen or so tries, I almost broke the 40 million mark on the Tower table. The previous owner of the cart (Austin), had about 37,900,000 and I was determined that I could beat that score after experiencing my close tries. One time I finished with 37,600,000 or so. You can imagine how mad I must have felt. Well, after an hour of playing, I came up with this
I bought a used PS2 slim. I had a little trouble turning the thing off. It just kept resetting because the reset button is the same as the power button. Now I need some (non-sucky) games and/or recommendations. I have Pac-Man World 3. The game is stupid, but it has the original Pac-Man on it.
I found this article made about my game quite interesting. http://retrogamingmagazine.com/2014/08/06/new-game-castle-of-doom-continues-development-on-atari-2600/ Anyway, the guy who wrote it wants to do an interview with me. This should also be interesting. (The last one was in French, so I couldn't read it!) I just added room #13 to the game, and room #12 was added yesterday. The game is going well, the hardest part right now is room designing. I have 1,546 bytes left for room designs, so I don
For the first time in a long time, I did some Odyssey 2 programming. I worked on Chief Chef. This is what I'm currently working on. I made version 7 with a few scoring changes. I made it so each item caught is 1 point and a 6 point bonus for completing a set so every complete set is worth 10 points. Much different than the 1 point per set scoring I've been having on that game. Chief Chef is looking better each time I had worked on it. Now that I've got the graphics set up, I can work more on stu
I worked on the celery show episode 2 some more. Some of the work was unnecessary because I put in the new code between some old gosub code and it screwed up the game. So a lot of the time was spent trying to figure out why it wasn't playing correctly. But now it is. In this little span, Mr. Celery hides from the vegetarians who are after them in a garbage truck. After the vegetarians run away still trying to get the celery, the garbage truck's cab comes and it drives off, with Mr. Celery inside
Well, I worked on GoSub for the Game Gear again. I wrote a SMS Power forum about my game, and they suggested I draw the coral in background and then to check for collisions do some thing I'e never heard of before. At least there is a way to do it. More help is needed. But at least today's job was semi-easy: drawing a coral square. I had to first make it in a 256x192 size, then check out the boundaries of the Game Gear's screen size, then make it visible in the Game Gear's screen. First time was
When I am away for a time, the computer shuts off and quits being responsive. I have to unplug it and plug it back in and then press the power button for it to come back. And also the Bluetooth capabilities quit working. Why can't people make a non-stupid computer that works all the time like my old one? I tried changing the sleep settings but that didn't help any. It's not fair. I shouldn't have to keep hauling my dumb computer to Best Buy all the time. I think I'll take a sledgehammer to this
So I thought I had gotten rid of my copy of the Cat in the Hat for PSone. I bought another one off eBay a few days ago. Today, I found my copy. Oh well, good thing I only paid $4 for another one. I also found MTV's Celebrity Deathmatch, another game I thought I had lost. I am still on my late PSone games kick. Anything 2003 and up. Here's a list of what I have in that regard: Cat in the Hat, Celebrity Deathmatch, Miracle Space Race, Motocross Mania 2, XS Airboat Racing, Tall: Infinity, Qix Neo,
Every game is exactly the same for me: 1. Play game. 2. Realize game is impossible. 3. Die. 4. Get angry. I, wanting to actually be able to beat a game, have been making games for one reason: The ones companies make are too hard. Impossible hard. Take Yoshi's Cookie for example. This game is hard as a stale cookie. It gets so fast you die. What's the point of playing it if it gets so fast you can't control the cookies? See, that's the point. Every game is too hard. And if they're not hard at the
It's not because I like my 2600 better than my Lynx, but I just went ahead and ordered 3 more games for my 2600. I had to choose between 3 2600 games and one Lynx game. But it's not as though I'll never get the Lynx game I wanted (I'll probably order it next month sometime.), it's just that I'm obsessive about things coming in the mail ASAP. If I'm expecting a package (which I almost always am nowadays), I'll check for the mail about every half hour starting at 1pm. I got a Lynx game in the mail
Company: ActivisionSize: 64 MegabitsRelease: 6/01 (launch title)NP's rating: 5/5 (v.146 p.115)ESRB rating: E (animated blood)OK, I am not a skater. If I tried to get on a skateboard, I would probably fall down. So, not knowing what I was doing, I went into this confused. I picked "free skate", which is just doing whatever you want without worrying about scores or anything else. The game looks like something the N64 would do (I haven't played the N64 version), which means great graphics for the l
Well, I've always been curious as to what shipping does to a record, so I bought a cheap one I wanted. It'd be about what I paid if I went to the record store downtown. I mean, a 12" LP is pretty big, so what box would you need for it? I'm expecting this one to be delivered sometime early next week. I don't know what price shipping would be because this one came with free shipping. It's for my long song vinyl collection. The album is "Todd Rundgren's Utopia." Side B is apparently one track of 30
I guess I just need a new needle or something, although the last vinyl-to-mp3 conversion went ok. I just guess that someone listened to this record a lot. Bought a vinyl record on eBay. I gave him positive feedback because the record appeared good. I guess with Audacity, you can't listen to the record while it's playing, so I had to wait 26 and a half minutes for Klaus Schulze's "Floating" to be over with before I could listen to it and see if it had done good. With Audacity, my volume settings
Back when I started this project, I never dreamed it would become as complicated as it is now. Not only that, I'm also amazed that I could keep it all in 2k! Anyway, if or when the game is released, I want to award people with something special if they get a certain score. Like Activision did with the patches. I don't know if anyone on here can make patches, I think there was someone, but I don't remember who. Another thing is that I don't know what the patch would look like. And yet another thi
Well I've got 100 Game Gear cases. Now I just need to find 7 more games for the empty ones. But it's kind of hard when you have 93 Game Gear games. One I really want to get is Shinobi 1, but I'm waiting for a copy to be reasonably priced. I doubt it's worth $9. And yesterday, I worked on the Celery game. Didn't have a chance to add much new stuff, yesterday was all about fixing it up so the screen didn't jump. Although I did some more programming for level 5. I added a goldfish in it. It's under
Well, we went over to my sister's house for a BBQ. We felt a little bad about leaving the pets in the hot house, but it was only for like three or four hours, and they handled it OK. We didn't want the fan going cuz one of them might knock it down, and heaven forbid we leave a window open so a robber can come in really easy. Anyway, I ate a burger (and a ton of snacks), watched some fireworks and just got back a half-hour ago, back into the oven, I was surprised it was still hot in the house at
Well, I got back from Best Buy VHS-to-DVD recorder-less. They only had one and it was out of stock. Not only that, the warehouse didn't even have one. So if I wanted it, I'd have to pay for it before I got it while it was shipped from another warehouse, and I didn't want to do that. But I didn't go away empty-handed. I got a really nice Herman's Hermits CD that has all their hits on it. I like "I'm Henry the VIII, I Am", but I'm in the middle of writing a parody of "There's a Kind of Hush".
