So I use my old computer to upload pictures to my comic website (one different from atari2600land.com) because it's the one hooked up to the scanner. So all I would do is scan, crop, edit picture, and upload all on one computer. Also, the FTP server is bookmarked and the password is automatically entered for me every time I log on. I've done this so much, I've forgotten the password! So suppose I want to use my new computer to upload pictures. I'd move my scanner, but I wouldn't know the passwor
So basically this game is a combination of Breakout, Bust-A-Move and Quarth. Lame back story aside, the game is super hard. Basically what you're trying to do is break apples with your ball bouncing back and forth. If your paddle touches an apple, the game is over. No lives for you. And the game is so hard, I doubt even the programmers can make it to level 2, let alone any one else. The reason why it's so hard is they put too many apples on the screen at once and they scroll down to your ship an
Well, I got scene 8 working. I worked on the first part before I went to bed at 7pm. Then I woke up at 2am, ate something and then worked on the second part for a while. The thing is now 2 min. 15 sec. long. As you see in the thread about this project, I had to redesign the spaceship a little in order to make it come into the view from the left. Just to make it easier so the screen doesn't jiggle. Scene 8 is an important scene. It's a plot point. The spaceship lands on Mars. The Martian rabbits
So I figured out the problem with the newest version of Stickman I was having with help. As it turned out, I was trying to make the computer do too much code, so the score wasn't showing up at the top. I spent all night last night on it. I finally gave up at 4am and went to bed. I woke up at 11:30am and promptly went back to work on it. At 7pm, I finally got the latest version up on the Stickman website. Now, I wasn't working non-stop for 7 and a half hours on it. That would be crazy. But I did
So I thought to myself, "Man, I haven't programmed the Game Gear in quite some time." Sure enough, it had been a month and a half since I last finished the "Bananas Are Good" game, and before that little update, about another month. So I need to keep all the video game consoles I can program in check and actually program them once in a while, even if nothing comes out of the little programs I create. This time, I decided to take the banana from the box of Corn Flakes With Bananas picture I had f
After a ton of changes from yesterday, I had been working on the game a lot yesterday, work resumes. I made a change to free up some room. In yesterday's blog entry, I showed a picture of the title screen. Here is a picture of it now: I figured that I didn't need the multicolored playfield, and all that data per line. I made some more changes and now I'm at 6 bytes left, although it is weird because I was at -6 earlier. But I was able to speed up the fly once at 25 points and again at 50. I adm
So I figured out that I do not understand Craps in the slightest after attempting to play it on Golden Nugget Casino 64. So I am not going to make it for the Virtual Boy. Instead I will attempt to make a version of Video Poker. Here's what I have so far: And this was a challenge. It kept wanting to give me a straight, but I finally did what I wanted it to do. Next I will make a hand icon and make it press the "keep" button to keep the cards you pick and then redeal the ones you don't want.
I'm only planning to get an account on YouTube if
A.) I can get permission from enough people to post their ads on it, and
B.) If I can get it to work correctly.
So that means going around asking various companies of those who advertise on KWVT (which you can count using one hand) and KWVT themselves. I e-mailed (annoyed) Mike, the owner (co-owner?) of the network a lot, and he's a nice guy, so I e-mailed him asking permission to use a station identification piece. I imagine it would be a
Here's a list of the games I've been playing for February.
-I'm still on a Mario Kart DS kick, although I've been getting a little tired of it lately.
-I made good with my promise and have played Tetris on GB. My current record is 199 lines.
-I've been playing with my Game Gear, most of the time Sonic 2 and Super Columns.
-Stella's Stocking. I don't see why people are bashing TC, though. But it could be just that I suck at playing video games. To quote Milhouse: "My mom thinks it's cool."

First off, some of you may have been wondering why there was an attachment in yesterday's blog. I didn't think it would actually show up because an attachment list didn't show up like there was for non-blog posts. I was just testing it, and it works, but apparently with a little quirk.I just ordered Threshold today for the 2600. I was like "Ooh, a game I don't have at about the same price as London Blitz!" and then I looked it up and found out it was a Tigervision game. I love their colored cart
I have a small collection of little books. I used to collect them and now I'm back doing it again. I went to Borders. I figured I needed to support them since they were going bankrupt. Luckily, none of the stores in Oregon are going to close (at least not yet.) which is good because this is the only place I can find them. After looking through the selection, which included small versions of big, normal sized books, I settled on a book of dirty limericks. Doesn't exactly go well with two tiny Bat
You know, eBay can be a very strange place. I saw a NIB Wheel of Fortune for the game.com at a ridiculously low price, so I put a bid on it. Some hours later, sumguy bid higher than me. Undeterred, I put in a bid higher than his. Only later did I discover that my bid was only 2 cents higher than his. Apparently sumguy didn't want to bid even higher than me, so I won the thing for $3 even (plus $3.99 shipping!) It was originally $1.99. A little too high if you ask me, seeing as how some guy on th
Someone asked me if I was going to release Captain Bruce and His Cosmic Boomerang. I guess I should be more careful about releasing project info because I had totally forgotten about it. Well, I might. Right now I want to differentiate it somehow from Dodgeball. I think the two games use the exact same cartridge. If I do plan on releasing it, I think 20 copies will be good. I have to fiddle around with the only Odyssey simulator so far to see what else ideas I can come up with. Perhaps I can mak
I got a new PSP console. The one I had before had a major problem: The D-pad sometimes went crazy even when I didn't touch it sometimes. I noticed this on Go! Sudoku, where the cursor kept traveling weird directions even when I wasn't pressing the d-pad or the joystick. So now the new PSP solves that problem. But there's two problems with Go! Sudoku that can't be solved no matter what PSP you try. It's just plain poor programming. The first problem arises when you put in the game for the first t
So I got in the urge to get angry work on Snowman's Land for the ActionMax. It took a half-hour for one minute's worth of game. I now have four minutes completed out of 13 total. That means I'm 30% finished. I designed a cover for the game, which led me to save it on my website, which led to an ActionMax website I hadn't updated in quite a while (Bubba's Buck Blastin' was mentioned as not finished yet.) Yes, the computer is still being super slow. I went to sleep at 1am and didn't wake up until
Well, it's Easter Sunday and I had nothing to do since I didn't do anything special for it. So I decided to work on the knee game some more. To try to make it an actual game. I was working on it and I got it to be an actual game with score increasing and stuff, but I noticed that if you had the fire button pressed when you died, it didn't go to the shot of the knee, instead it just cycled back to the ingame shot of the close up of the leg. So I tried to do various things, but nothing seemed to h
So it's time to shelve Killer Heads of Lettuce for a while, at least until Kevin Vs. Tomatoes comes out. I decided to restart the Adventures of the 50-Foot-Tall Stalk of Celery for the Atari 2600. I picked up right where I left off. I began work on an 8th stage. This is the final stage of the game, where Mr. Celery confronts an angry giant pig. This is the reason for the pig enemies on level 1. The pigs ate holes in Mr. Celery's favorite bridge and it's payback time for Mr. Celery, that is, if h
I just went to the mailbox and there to greet me was the latest Lynx game I purchased: Power Factor. I bought this primarily for the invincibility code. I think codes like this are cool. That's why I like Abadox for the NES so much. I actually had enough interest to beat the whole game with its invincibility code. If there was a Game Genie for the Lynx, I would buy it. I think every game should have an invincibility code. But I'm a little hesitant to put one in GoSub 2 because it might be trigge
The Portland Trailblazers NBA team begins preseason play tonight against Sacramento. I have to listen to them. That's right, the first preseason game is not televised. Instead, I have to listen to them on the radio. And in the starting lineup is Greg Oden. Now I think this is a bad move here. I think the Blazers should not let Greg play until the regular season starts 3 weeks later. Why? He might injure himself during the preseason and then poof! No Greg for nobody knows how long. Also, it will
I had ordered Birth of a Nation (1915) and the Mark of Zorro (1920) and they still haven't come yet. I have The Hunchback of Notre Dame (spelled "Norte Dame" on the disc. I guess it wasn't a good enough movie to get the name right!), Phantom of the Opera, Metropolis, and the Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, as well as 14 hours' worth of Charlie Chaplin shorts. Somewhere around the house, I have a couple I taped off of TMC, and the Lost World. I don't know why, but I just find it fascinating to watch fo
What have I been doing since my last blog entry? Nothing much. I did however get/order a couple games. My AtariAge package finally came, and the cheapie $3 thing I got, when put on my Odyssey2, created tons of static, so I just continued using the old switchbox I had, which produces a clear picture! Anyway, an idea I had just hit me. MIDIs. I haven't made one in a while. I figure my last one of a long song I made went well, but I think this one's going to be even better. I'm making a MIDI of The
So I've been working on Mr. Celery and pausing every couple of minutes to watch the snow fall (if any.) I finished the pig boss. What I did was when the pigs stop flying by, jump on his head. Then the little green pigs move faster. And when they stop, jump on his head again. Then the little green pigs come faster still and when they stop, jump on his head. Then the game ends. But most of the time was spent trying to make the scanline count steady at 262. Level 6 was giving me quite a fight, bu
Keeping with my Pac-Man fix, anyway, I wasn't that big of a Pac-Man fan. I thought to myself, I have all these Pac-Man games laying around. I know Pac-Man was (is) a big fixture in video game history (like Mario or Sonic), so I thought, well, why not try playing them for more than a few rounds? Well, I did, and I've grown to like the yellow fellow and his wife (girlfriend? She's Ms. Pac-Man, not Mrs. Pac-Man.) So, well, anyway, I got a Tengen version of Pac-Man for NES in a gray cart, which alon
Well, it was one year ago today that I first got my Lynx, which means it's also my first anniversary of collecting games for it. So here's the games I have to show for it:

Gates of Zendocon

There's these really small insects flying around my house. Luckily, they're not bees or flies, but they're really annoying me. I just killed two of them so far today. I'm guessing they're gnats, but i'm not sure. I wish they were small ants (not the kind we got rid of, which we called Terminix for) , which are much easier to spot and much easier to kill. Anyway, we apparently signed up for quarterly Terminix service, and they're supposed to come around next month. If I keep seeing them, I will d
