I've pretty much decided that I will stop collecting games for my PS2, GameCube and Xbox when my collection reaches 100 games for each system. Those are the main systems I'm still buying games for (along with the Nintendo DS portable system) though I buy a game for an earlier system once in awhile. For instance, I did get one Super Nintendo game last month.
My GameCube and Xbox collections are the furthest along. I have 76 games now for my Xbox and 78 games now for my GameCube...I do ha
I seem to be buying GameCube games in bunches this month and I bought some more today. I bought 2 titles at Wal-Mart and then, about 3 hours later, I went out again and wound up buying 2 more at K-Mart. And then I finally located a pair of games (MVP Baseball 2004 and Animal Crossing) that I had misplaced...they were hiding underneath my couch. Or did my cat Cindy hide them there so she could have them to herself? I wouldn't put anything past that little minx! At any rate, the 4 titles I bo
I stopped at Blockbuster Video yesterday to see what GameCube games they might have for sale. The pickings were mighty slim but I did pick up one game, The Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer. Except for a few small "Blockbuster" stickers on the outside of the case, this game looks practically brand new. I guess hardly anyone rented it. When I got home, I looked it up and it didn't get great scores but not terrible ones, either. It's average score on a scale of 1-100 is 65 to 70.
So far
After only buying 21 games last year, I see, to be almost back to my usual self this year. I think I've already bought about 8 games this year so far.
Last night I took a run over to Wal-Mart. I noticed a DS 2-game pack in the showcase (one was a Pac-Man game, the other a Dig Dug one) but I wasn't familiar with them so I wasn't sure if I'd like them. Thus, I left them there. I should look up a few reviews and if they're decent, I may go back and get them. I also saw an Incredibles game
I've been trying to get a copy the last few days of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Nintendo GameCube. It wasn't in my local stores and was a bit more than I cared to spend among those copies I found at Amazon.com's Marketplace. I then tried to win via an eBay auction. I bid on it at 4 different auctions and I lost it at 4 different auctions. I decided to go out this morning, figuring one last search would be futile, but what the hey. Surprisingly, I found it at my local Wal-
I may have to edit this if any other titles arrive today but I did receive 3 GameCube titles yesterday. These included titles I ordered (and wrote of) previously...
Go! Go! Hypergrind
Red Faction II
Dark Summit
Interestingly, I wasn't even expecting Dark Summit as I hadn't ordered it. It was a free game, sent at no charge, by the seller of Red Faction II. He said he was doing it because he just wanted to clear out some of his unwanted game. Ironically, I had bought both Red Faction
Okay, if you don't count the games I ordered previously since they haven't arrived yet, here's the first real game of 2007 for me...a game I'd looked for before but which my stores didn't have in stock. My Wal-Mart finally got it in but they only had one copy so I snatched it up. It's Super Princess Peach for the Nintendo DS. Yes, it's another game in the Mario series. In this one, Peach has to rescue Mario and her friends. This is officially my 8th DS title.
I looked for two other games. My
I made my first purchases of 2007 yesterday. Hold on!, you say...yesterday (and even today) was still 2006 so how could you have bought your first purchases of 2007 yesterday? Wouldn't they be the final purchases of 2006? Well, yes and no...I ordered them online...so technically, I paid for them in 2006 but I won't receive them until a week or so in January and I always count when I receive something as when I "buy" it. Actually, they'll all arrive separately as I bought each from a differen
A lot of people have various goals they like to set down for a coming year as it approaches. I have a few thoughts but nothing really set in stone, at least as far as video games go.
I currently have 76 games for my Xbox and I'm toying with the idea of reaching an even hundred for the system by the end of next year. That's a nice thought but that still means I'd have to buy 24 games for the system which is 3 more games than I've bought all of 2006. Still, if I really search the bargain ar
I had a goal that I wouldn't buy more than 20 games this year...and I thought I'd do it but today I decided to pick up a copy of MVP Baseball 2005 for the GameCube and that was my 21st game of the year...so another goal has fallen. I decided to pick that up as I feel it was the last really good game for the Cube (I thought this year's Major League Baseball 2K6 was good at first but I've since decided I have a few reservations about it) and I have my doubts it will get any baseball game next yea
Well, I finally got Crash Twinsanity for the Xbox today. I had ordered it back on December 2nd from an Amazon Marketplace seller. And it's no wonder I didn't get it until now. The guy didn't even mail it until 2 days ago! He takes my money and waits 2 weeks to mail it? What's up withn that? Of course, I don't know the explanation...perhaps he was out of town or something. I guess I shouldn't complain without knowing the facts. I did get it for just $8 or so and, though used, it looks to
Anyone who knows much about gamers wouldn't ask a fellow gamer "What video game system do you have?" because he would assume, like all true gamers, that we have multiple systems. So the proper question would be "What video game systems do you have?"...using the plural version. Here then is a list of my system with how many games I have for each. The number on the more recent system would be probably exact...the PS1 and earlier systems, the number of games will be approximate. I need to go ov
Before this year started, I made myself a promise or goal that I would try not to buy more than 20 video games this year. I just ordered a game which should become my 20th game of the year. Since there's only a few weeks left in the year, I feel I can easily make it through the rest of the year without buying another game, so I'm going to list my entire year's purchases here. As you can see, I'm not really buying for the classic systems anymore...though, there's always the chance that can cha
Yoshi's Island DS arrived today. This is my 7th DS game but it will probably be awhile before I get to it as I'm pretty into both New Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario World (GBA) right now. When I either beat or get tired of New Super Mario Bros., I will then stick this game into the DS slot of my DS unit.
Interestingly, I ordered this at least a week after I ordered an Xbox game, Crash Twinsanity, and that game still hasn't arrived yet. I see I actually ordered that (from an Amazon.co
I buy a fair amount of stuff from Amazon.com and it turns out I even have an Amazon.com credit card. From time to time I earn enough credits for my rewards program...and then they send me a reward certificate worth $25 for anything they sell. I usually use that towards a DVD or a video game. As it turns out, I got one of those certificates today and I've been getting interested more in Nintendo DS games lately so I used it towards Yoshi's Island DS. That normally goes for $27.99 from the onl
I went out today and bought my first portable games of the year. I had made myself a goal of not buying more than 20 games in 2006. And then I bought all of 2 games the first half of the year. Even though I've gotten into a little bit of a buying spree of late, I'm still likely to stick to that goal. These two bring my game purchases for the year up to 17...18, counting one game on order that hasn't arrived yet.
Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 is, of course, the portable version
Today I received a package of 3 games for the Playstation 2, my first PS2 games of the year. They are...
1. God of War
2. Jak 3
3. Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal
I believe the Rachet & Clank game is the 3rd game of that series and there's at least one more game that's been released in that series which I'll likely get eventually. It cost me only $14.95 but an even bigger bargain was Jak 3 which cost me only about $10.
I didn't realize it when I ordered these but all 3 o
I just finished my first game of Major League Baseball 2K6 on the GameCube. My first game was home against the Los Angeles Dodgers...as always, the team I control was my Pittsburgh Pirates. I think I simmed past the first week of the season without realizing what I was doing. I saw a game lit up on the schedule but I think I just went to the Pirates' first home game, simming the first week which were road games. This is my first MLB game since MVP 2005.
Overall, I had a good time and w
