Zero 5 is one of the last commercial games to hit the ST. It needs an STE to play but it finds it self on a falcon. The game is a 3d space shooter with fast polygon graphics, an interesting scenario (apart from interesting it's also highly original, evil aliens attack earth for no apparent reason) and there are a lot of missions to complete. The game can be played with either a mouse or a jagpad and since I don't have the second, I can only say that it takes a lot of practice to do anything with
You might have read the announcement and you might have not. But with the help and kind offer for hosting from D-Bug, I released (and I use the I in a relatively loose sense) a small preconfigured software collection. You can find it at http://morethangames.dbug-automation.co.uk/ .
What's the deal with it? As I write in the web site, nowadays most active people in the community or people that want to get into it, get an atari ST with a hard disk. But setting that hard disk up, a complete atari
Some of you may wonder (yeah right) why I have been quiet and not updated the blog for some time. There are various reasons, the uni has been taking much of my time and I' ve found myself reading about automobile design in relation to materials selection, Li-ion batteries and superalloys (yes you guessed it when I grow up I will be a materials scientist). However unfortunately that is not the main reason, some things that happened on a personal level have managed to take the fun
Well isn't this a surprise. The readers of this blog suddenly increased, very fast. It got 3000+ views in a few days. I wonder why...Anyway, this isn't why I am writing this. Most of my faithful readers must have missed me so here I am. Well, good news, my CT63 is working perfectly, so is my ethernec and so I am online from the falcon. Bad news, after being cursed by either the jaguar "vocal" community or Candy Candy fangirls (don't ask, I won't tell ) I lost my PC and laptop PC so my only onli
I finally got a PC 3 days ago. I still can't get used to it. So this small entry is to let you know that I'll probably be posting a few more vids on my youtube channel soon and I'll probably have a few more things to write here.
It's been quite a long time since I last posted anything here. There is a good reason for that, I've been quite occupied with making websites and other IT related stuff. We've also spent quite a bit of time in creating our website from scratch. You can find it here: Mindsoft IT solutions .
Our english pages are still under construction but we are working on the translations. Either way you can get a feel of what we do.
What does this mean for my Atari stuff. Well things are getting
It's been over a few weeks since I decided to move over to Ubuntu from windows. I have a dual boot system but I booted on windows only twice. One time to check something in the hardware from a windows only program, and another to see if it still works. I think I can do all the things I want from that, at the moment at least. Unfortunately I didn't find something like dscaler in order to record videos for my youtube channel so I guess I'll have to learn mencoder. Avidemux seems to be a pretty go
I haven't updated this for a long time. However my atari addiction hasn't subsided a bit. I just didn't have anything interesting to say.. Now I do.
So here are 4 things to expect for this Xmas season...
1. Economic crisis getting worse
3. There are some rumours about a couple of demos to be released by the end of the next month.
4. My own pet project for desktop Atari users (yes there are a few, I think).
As you may or may not know Alliexpress is a short of an ebay alternative and Aliexpress sucks! Seriously don't buy from aliexpress! Never buy from Aliexpress. Send Aliexpress where it belongs, to history!
Long story short. I bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 screen from a seller in Aliexpress and the item was defective. Meaning that the digitizer won't work. It happens in ebay too, but out of eight purchases from Aliexprees three were defective. That's right, there is a very high probability you'l
As you may already know, a new version of Teradesk was released. You can also find attached the Greek translation for this current version. Please contact me for any problems or comments, complaints etc regarding this translation.

When I got my Falcon, a very nice program came with it. System audio manager or SAM for sort. So after being a bit too tired to do anything with my Falcon the past few days, other than watching demos for the relaxing and enjoying effect they have, I toyed today with this little program.
One of it's primary functions, is to assign samples to various operating system's operations, such as opening a window or alert boxes and system errors. So I used a few samples of computers speaking and the res
Some of you may wonder why there is nothing Atari related from me. Truth is.. demotivation! Without anything exciting going on in the ST side of things (at least in front of the scenes) I find that my ct63 is rarely turned on. Also, I've been enjoying some summer vacations in Chalkidiki. Here's a sky!
This is my first intro, done in GFA Basic. It's planned to announce STOT @ Outline 08. Enjoy watching. Intro is for STE only and needs 2MB's of RAM (a bug discovered today hopefully will be fixed soon).
Update: STOTRO 1.1 released. Now works on Falcons as well! Also the memory bug is fixed. Now needs 1MB.
Edit: It's also on pouet.
My good friend kRadD has done it this time. The new STOT website is up at http://www.npoi.de/page.php?2 . Bookmark it and enjoy the content. Also not to let it slip by, this is your last chance to participate in STOT season 1. The final game is on and it's the Bitmap Bros classic Xenon II.
Regular readers will know about STOT. After Outline 08 we started a series of 3 newly released games for the Atari ST line of computers. The three games are Dma-Sc's Manical Drop, Sh3-rg's Sudokunivers and now is concluded with Piccrosst. Read more about them at the official STOT forum over at atari-forum.com. Link:
Thorn, Simonsunnyboy and I, decided to start a small gamedev compo for the fun of it. The game doesn't have to be from a coder, a text adventure written in a text adventure creator would be great.
Seeing that many people have some game idea they started working on in the past we thought of offering a chance to fame and glory if you decide to complete it. Like I said it doesn't have to be fancy or anything. Just fun for you!
Anyway, here's the link:
Here is a new version of a null modem TCP/IP connection between the atari and a PC this time
with the use of the STING stack. I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work with an ST or Mega
STE but as usual some things are beyond us.I only have a falcon to test.
Setting up the Atari:
First it is imperative to install and install properly the HSModem serial port drivers. To do
that we place DRVIN.PRG in the auto folder late in the running order but before the drivers
and the stack. After tha
Here is a new blog series I am going to start. I'll be presenting software, applications and utilities mostly, that I use (new stuff in most occasions). It's going to be just a teaser hopefully something that will get people trying the stuff.
So here are the two first:
Highwire is an open source and pretty fast browser that is:
HTML 4 compliant
Supports tables, Framesets, caches for images etc.
Has CSS support.
Here are two videos showing it off.
just to announce the release of Quick Extract v 0.3. This is a small program that will allow you to easily extract files with just a double click from your desktop. Just
install it as an application to open those zip, rar and other archive files. Everything else is explained in the docs. Have fun!
