Cruizin' Atariage - why the hell did I not buy this?!- April 2021

(Submitted by Doctor Clu)   So this was originally written in the "Why the hell did I not buy this?!" thread here on AtariAge. "a thread for items that you thought you would never need/want but looking back, you think you should have gotten it. "   Got many collections but Bubsy Bobcat is one of the few that I've tried to hunt down everything possible for and try to buy it.   Must admit, I like Bubsy collecting because I can afford the occasional thing tha

Cruizin' Playstation Communities - Bubsy Forever - March 2021

For those of us that were on the Playstation Communities, Bubsy Forever was probably the bigger of the message threads you could be on to talk about the Bubster.   Run by Artemus311 the messages take us through the events of Bubsy from November 2017 to March 2021.   In it, Bubsy fans shared the excitement of playing Bubsy Woolies Strike Back and Paws on Fire, along with talk of other media, movies, other fun tangents.   Earlier this month Sony announced that the Playstation C

Cruizin' eBay - Jaguar Bubsy Vidpro Card - April 2021

Good morning Bubsy fans!!   Here on April Fools Day we finally got a glimpse of the Jaguar Bubsy VidPro Card.    NO FOOLIN'!    So VidPro cards were this piece of cardboard, about the size of a larger post card, that they would use to display available games, usually at Toys R' Us, but I believe this was also done at Kaybee Toy Stores and a few other places, and this was done in the 80s and into the 90s.   Here we have the Bubsy 1 Postcard sitting among three VidPro cards as a way of

Cruizin' Playstation Communities - Part 2: Other Groups - March 2021

In the previous message we mentioned the Bubsy Forever group.   In this one we have the messages from the "Bubsy Bobcat" group which had more members but less message traffic than the Bubsy Forever Group.   Also the more odd "REAL BUBSY FANS 4 LIFE" group.   Finally, we have another attachment that shows the other Bubsy groups that existed, though usually with a message or so if that.  The "Rule 34 Virgil" group had some fair message traffic and tame despite the name and was based on B

Cruizin' AtariAge - Kitt'N Kaboodle (VCS/2600) Update - August 2020

Got a new version of Kitt'N Kaboodle for the Atari 2600/VCS     This one has: * Improved sprites (Jumping, running, and climbing.) * Change of the logo from "Bubsy 0" to "Kitt'N Kaboodle" * New final level with item (one of Virgil's atoms) from "Paws on Fire" to celebrate that game release. Download latest version.   The latest revision was prompted when Welfz Twingo Furs ran some ideas by me for a version of the game he had in mind.   I created

Cruizin' Discord - Paws on Fire (Extras) - November 2020

So this morning a shout out was going out to Awesomehaig and Mayan People who have been two people who have put some love into the Bubsy Bobcat Wiki.   This is an ongoing labor of love of many Bubsy fans.   Today's article was inspired by them.   Over on the Officious Bubsy Fan Group on Discord there has been wonderful showing of things that Honza 55 44 has discovered on the latest Bubsy game "Paws on Fire".   While there has been much uncovered, such as the fact shown from earlier gam

Cruizin' Youtube - Woolie Strikes Back (Voice Clips) - December 2020

Good morning Bubsy fans, long time no see. *   In my tooling around and enjoying the Bubsy goodness on the interwebs, I enjoy what other fans find.  Hey, this is a FAN blog afterall right?      So this one goes out to Xinny for finding this.   From the author's perspective this voice actor, who I hope we learn the name of at some point, is one of the best portrayals of the Bubsy character.   Some say it’s Vic Mignona, some say Dan Castellaneta, some say Brian Drummond.    IMDB seems t

Cruizin' Budsies - The Bubsy Plush sightings (and getting a plush made) - July 2019

The Bubsy Plush Sightings (Started July 5, 2019, updated April 5, 2020)   Currently we know through the interwebs there are a grand total of ten known Bubsy plushes from back in Bubsy 1 and Bubsy 2 development days that still exist.  We're sure there are more.   JennyN (mentioned later in this article) and her father, who worked for Accolade during the Bubsy 2 development, mentioned there was once a drawer full of Bubsy plushies at Accolade.  These plushes were handed out to devel

Cruizin' PXExtreme - The Gold X Award - September 2020

Meanwhile on the Officious Bubsy Discord Server, discussions continue, projects continue, and some time to time, some interesting facts are given.   We've known in the fandom that the Gold X award, believed to be made up by Accolade, was in fact a "true" award for the magazine, PXExtreme.   It is no surprise that there was in fact a tin through platinum award for the magazine.   We figured it would be great to document the various awards in a blog entry, and also whatever els

Bubsy sightings on the Internet January 2010

Hello fellow Bubsy fans!! I would like to thank you for stopping in, and the artists and links who I am about to advertise and give honorable mention to at this point.   Every so often I like to scour the internet for Bubsy pictures, and mirror them here on the Bubsy Bobcat Fan Blog. Some pictures and original links have already vanished from the internet, so at this time I will feature some great treasures that I was able to come across.   Not a great mention of Bubsy,

Adrian Bourne - Bubsy 2 Artist

In my surfing through the internet to find new Bubsy material, I found a website to an artist that actually created art work for the Bubsy games. In this case, it was Adrian Bourne who created some of the villians for Bubsy 2. I talked to him a bit, and then asked if we could feature his work here and a link back to his art site. I was delighted when he wrote back... "This all sounds cool to me. I've got more Bubsy art stored in boxes here and there. I'll see about scanning some and throwing up

Cruizin' FFT - The Hidden Room (Level 6) - July 2020

In 2012 Jeremiahjt was looking at the 6th level map file from Fractured Furry Tales (shown below) and noticed there was a mystery room to the upper right.   Many started to wonder the mystery of what was in this strange room.   While a warp door could get you to the upper room in the middle, no gate was found to get to the mystery room.   (I want to add, game producer Faran Thomason was asked about the room and was equally puzzled.)      On the map above you can s

Bubsy News December 2011

. Bubsy Shades surface on Ebay!   "Up for sale is a Very Rare and Vintage Promo Item from the Super Nintendo video game Bubsy Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind."   No love for the Genesis version?   "This was not an item that you could purchase, you only received these if you purchased the video game through Babbages, which was a video game store at my local mall."     Yes, I remember Babbages. I remember going there to find games for my Atari 800 computer and I think the midninet

Welcome to the Bubsy Bobcat / My Bubsy Gallery

Welcome to the fan blog of   BUBSY BOBCAT!! Some blog entries will be pictures, some stories, and just other fun. Half the fun of being a Bubsy fan is the uniqueness of anything fan made about Bubsy. So what you have in this blog is a collection of pictures that have appeared over the internet. I place them here as a mirror so that the art will not be lost, however if you are the owner to some of this art, please let me know. Be good to hear from another Bubsy F

Cruizin' AtariAge - Kitt'N Kaboodle Update - April 2020

[From the Vic 20 Version]   Hey fans of the Bubster, thanks to MKdoes711 we now have a nice manual for this game.   I've updated the first message of this thread with it.  Or you can click here to download the manual.   I've added pictures showing the development progression of the sprites through the alpha and release revisions, and pictures and links of this game on other platforms.   We've had some Bubsy fans on the Bubsy Officious Dischord server recently find

Cruizin' Facebook - Sponge Fox's birthday! - April 2020

Was on Facebook and saw that is was Sponge Fox's (Ginger Chavez) birthday!   Sure she's had birthdays before, and will have others after.  This is one the Bubsy Fan Blog happened to remember.   For those of the past, thanks for drawing Bubsy with fun, with purrsonality, and not as a meme, but with dignity as Bubsy.     Thanks for all the help in projects like the Michael Berlyn interview, the Bubsy comic book, and now with the Bubsy animation project.   Y

Cruizin' Home - The Bubsy Plush - April 2020

So in the past we've talked about the Bubsy plush that the Accolade developers had as a promotional item during the development of Bubsy 1 and Bubsy II.   And we talked about it in 2010, 2013, and this one and that one in 2019.   At this time, ten known in the world to still exist.   Earlier this year a Bubsy plush came up on ebay, which I went ahead and bought. A decade long dream come true.   And today with all the #Stayhome things going on...   ... I finall

More Bubsy Boxes!

Heyyy!! How's it going Bubsy fans out there? Well, I have been talking to SpongeFox and she has been telling me I need to have a more consistent time to update, so tell everyone what? I will try to post a new message at the beginning week of every month. Sound good?     I have a good lot of the Bubsy game boxes now (and I have a Ballzooka on the way). My latest additions to the collection are the yellow Gameboy box for Bubsy 2 (REALLY hard to find), Super Bubsy in the box, a
