YAMANEKO which I understand is Japanese for "Mountain Cat". So here we get to see the Japanese spin on Bubsy.
Welcome to the fan blog of
Some blog entries will be pictures, some stories, and just other fun. Half the fun of being a Bubsy fan is the uniqueness of anything fan made about Bubsy. So what you have in this blog is a collection of pictures that have appeared over the internet. I place them here as a mirror so that the art will not be lost, however if you are the owner to some of this art, please let me know. Be good to hear from another Bubsy F
As of right now the countdown timer should be over for Steam and PS4 users! From all of us at the Bubsy Bobcat Fan Blog, and friends, Have fun out there Bubsy gamers! Picture from SpongeFox.. I wrote this to "Bubsy" on Twitter:
So above all, not bad. A year later Bubsy is still $19.99 for a used copy, and $29.99 for a new copy at Game Stop. The leaderboards on Steam and Playstation are still active. Woolies Strike Back may be a relatively easy game to get through, most can get through in a little more than an hour; however, moving up in the leaderboards requires skills and tricks that take much longer.
As any (good) game. Easy to learn, difficult to master. I th
Earlier in my blog I made my own Bubsy shirt, having given up on finding the real mccoy, and here was my rendition..
But today I found the real thing, and I made sure to buy it, but if it never shows up, WE HAVE PICTURES!!!!
Wow.. this is an amazing day.
With the arrival of Super Bubsy last night, I feel my Bubsy Bobcat collection is basically complete...

Bubsy 3D - Playstation
About a week ago I showed the first picture of the Portable Hole that was a promotional frisbee toy at the release of Bubsy II. It arrived and I carried it in my bag to work just in case I needed it to jump out of a jam. Luckily the portable hole was not needed. But who am I to hog such a magnificent piece of swag? Here it is...
The Hole comes in a Bubsy 2 bag, which looks much like this...
And comes with a manual. Here are some quick pictures of the manual so that you
Will you look at this!! I asked Sponge Fox for a picture of Bubsy with goggles. Why? Well in Bubsy 1 when he would ride the roller coaster he would wear the goggles. It was a nice look for him.
Sponge Fox took it a step further adding another cool element of Bubsy, side slinging the Ballzooka that he used in Bubsy 2, and then for fun, added the fingerless gloves.
All and all, this to me is the most awesome picture of Bubsy I have seen yet. Thanks Sponge Fox for helping Bubsy evo
Hey guys, Doctor Clu here with a great picture of me made by SpongeFox.
Here lately SpongeFox has had some fun mixing Bubsy with Bonkers characters, let's see how that went...
Bonkers, meet Bubsy. I can see the pleasure is all Bubsy's.
So some cool pics of Bonkers AS Bubsy
Loved this one. Just very Bubsy like.
But all's fine and good, but I think Bonkers is tired of being Bubsy.
Ok, some characters, like Boogerman here, should not try to be Bubsy. LOL!
https://spongefox.deviantart.com/art/BUBSY-Yah-Hooo-701604990 And here is another reason to celebrate... ... ever wanted to be an editor here at the Bubsy Blog? There is a lot of Bubsy news right now and the help would be awesome. Just send me a PM if interested. -Doctor Clu
So this time last year we had the speculation that Bubsy was in Sonic Forces.
Where there is a will, there is a way. Thanks to Zerosp0nge there is a hack that replaces the Sanic shirts with all three variations of Bubsy's trademark shirt. Apparently in the story, at least according the early advertisements for the game, there would be a new friend and ally helping Sonic. Originally this new ally had an outline much like Bubsy. Once you slap a Bubsy shirt on this character it really does
Check out this link to get a Bubsy shirt!
I was going to buy one of these, but found that if you buy four you get free shipping. So I might buy some in other styles, like...
The black POWER UP shirt!! That just looks cool. Might have to get several of those.
The Long sleeve shirt. This was a type of shirt that Bubsy wore in the poster that was found in Nintendo Magazine.
And the hoodie. Honestly, never
41 years to the day of the original Star Wars Movie release, Solo is released to theaters. Which I will see soonish. And Bubsy had this to say... That price is ... (wait for it) ... SOLO. Probably the lowest yet.
So for a long time Bubsy fan like myself the joy was all the hype of the new game being released, seeing Bubsy fans respond, and "Bubsy" on the twitter feed responding back. The twitter activity that was probably inspired by the "Sonic" (Played by a Sega employee) on the Sonic twitter channel probably inspired Accolade. And to me it made all the difference getting to interact with the character.
So let's start with the expected news, what are the non-Bubsy fans saying? Well, let's take a
Was having fun with the Fractured Furry Tales game, seeing what was inside, and so far I have found some interesting items. These images were taken looking at the images in RAW format, and what we got was a greyscale image, but it gives us an idea of what is there. Hopefully once I figure out how to convert from the Jaguar image formats we can get a better look at these pictures. But what you see here is the title screen...
And background shots...
And for those that have not heard
Tonight I was looking for Bubsy Bobcat material using search engines other than Google. I tried one call PicSearch...
It was there that I ran into the art work of Phillip Vaughan who helped re-imagine the Bubsy character for the 1995 release for the PC platform "Super Bubsy", perhaps the best graphics for the 2D version of the Bubster. I found his art gallery at:
As always I like to ask the artists if I
Finally the review you've all been waiting for: the review of Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back by Bubsy fans for Bubsy fans! How does this new game compare to previous Bubsy games, how does it rank (by the reviewer's humble opinion), and what are the challenges faced in collecting all the items/yarnballs? Talks about the levels between the tutorial and the first boss level.
Watch it here...
So for a while I've had this yellow cat that I've had in mind to look more Bubsy like. It was the place I stored my Bubsy kit cap.
Some orange spray paint was passed my way, I tried it out on the yellow cat, and liked it and went to work....
Looks better with the hat...
And decided till I can make a better one, how about the green exclamation mark from the second player Bubsy made with the same frog tape I used to cover the face during the painting. Made for a nice touch. Add
Interesting Frame eh?
This is the unqiue frame you can expect to find at...
It strikes me as interesting that for Ninendo gaming that Bubsy Bobcat would be chosen. But as I'm finding out by interviewing the DeviantARTists and others, many people had a Nintendo/Sega and Bubsy was one of the first games they had. I know that was my (Doctor Clu's) case for the Atari Jaguar. So if Bubsy was not a mascot for any system he is at lea
When I originally started collecting Bubsy Art, I found that most of the art out there was Sponge Fox, and never would have imagined I'd have fun talking about some ideas of Bubsy art and various tinkering with concepts.
So first off the latest artwork. This is Bubsy with Bonkers with his niece and nephew. I thought it captured the characters well.
The next two were done in fun tinkering with what Bubsy would do if bored. Sponge Fox wants you to know this is not some kind of inflati
