New Graphic Novel: Adventures in Vastia- Temper Tantrum Dragon Clones

I just finished yet another graphic novel featuring my wingless dragons, titled Adventures in Vastia: Temper Tantrum Dragon Clones. Here's the plot: There are two formats- The Kindle Version and the book format. It has over 100 pages black and white with color cover. Right now it's FREE if you have Kindle Unlimited And as always, here are some screenshots:

Late Night with David Letterman arcade machine

Take a look.   It's from a book titled, "Late Night with David Letterman: The Book." This used to be one of those TV cards whenever the show would go on break or back to the program.   To the right, you know what that is. But the guy playing at the Robotron cabinet disguised as the show's title is playing some sort of "game" maybe an Atari 8-bit or just some mock-up. Anyone know if this "game" is a real or not?

'Video Magic' Reviews from 1990s-2000s

Okay kiddies, you're about to embark some past game reviewing I did for a small catalog titled, "Video Magic." Frank Polosky was the owner/publisher and for a good solid five to six years (maybe more) I wrote reviews on games for credit towards (what else?) games. So without further ado, here are some Blast from the Past reviews:

Diarrhea Man Game Video

It's getting down to just ironing out the bugs (if any) in this game. Otherwise, it's pretty much finished. I've uploaded a video of it- the quality of the video isn't very good due to the screen capture software- you have to be playing the actual game to see the detail.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZbchwhSd9g&feature=c4-overview&list=UU4Df6t8s6kDJlgrg32Iq_WQ

Order is Important -or- Working with two alphachar files

There were times in which I tried and wondered when I have two sets of 'alphachars' when one didn't work properly. For example, let's say you were creating an adventure game. You wanted to use a secondary 'alphachars' file for text only in case you run into a villager. The 'alphachars' for the field display correctly, however the ones for the town are, in fact, look like letters. Even with using the "characterset" code before the 'alphachars' code, it still didn't display properly; still ju

The AtariAge Boxcar Has a Place to Go.

Not too long ago, I started a city scene on my HO scale model railroad. What a better way to tie-in to video games than to build a thrift store and have the AtariAge boxcar go to. I used a discontinued Korber 5 and 10 store building kit and furnished some interior and "junk" inside and attempted to make a miniature Atari. The attempt wasn't so great and my cheap camera didn't like it either. I used a rubber eraser to make the console but when you have a system that's smaller than your pinky

Another 'Diarrhea Man' game update

Time for another update with the 'Diarrhea Man' game I've been working on. Most of the levels are run 'n shoot type while others are racing against the clock running over of certain number of toilets. Previously, every level would bring the D-man back to a 'pick-a-door' level but now levels are paired together to eliminate some of the programming; it's just a little easier than programming 100 doors for 100 levels.   This might be a very funny game as every time you get D-man to shoot, a far

The Black Dragon Graphic Novel on Amazon

I did offer this book at Lulu but it was pricey. The Black Dragon is a graphic novel for kids and kids at heart who like dragons and fantasy. It's in full color and it available in the Kindle store on Amazon for $5.99 http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EJ8B08A     You may also be interested in a real book of the same title for $14.99. Each book is 72 pages and in full color. https://www.createspace.com/4396386

Another Update for Draker Quest

Coding with the use of banks have been a bitch. I've been getting errors ever since I had to change from 48k to a size higher like 128 or 256k. It's possibly my coding, but as I added more graphics, that's when I had to choose a higher rom size and then all the errors started happening. But there's one thing that saved my butt: a backup. I've been making a practice of making a backup of the files just in case things start going nuts- and they did. It's also a good idea to keep it on a USB

Video Game Comic with Tal the Dragon

I've been thinking of getting one of my cartoon dragon characters, Tal, branching off from his regular comic and getting him into some about classic video games. If you like this one, let me know if you'd like to see more.

Draker Quest - Alpha Demo

Since the last update, DQ has been a 48k, then a 128k, now a 256k game. I didn't release a 128k version since I wanted more maps. I've added several maps such as another overworld map, caves and additional dungeons.   I've also started maps for a sky tower and so far two floors have been added. A title screen and "game over" have been added. This game is still a demo and there are still bugs and other things I need to fix. One noticeable one is the first cave map has slow down and I nee

Draker Quest--A Double Edged Sword?

For games like Legend of Zelda or Midnight Mutants, its rom size is 128k. I've been using the standard 48k in 7800basic. But it's getting used up fast and I've been trying to avoid bankswitching because I've been having problems with compiling errors. I don't know if it's something in my coding, if I'm leaving something out, or I'm just dumb.   I'd like to add more stuff, but then I'll get errors of bank 1 being full. If I try to bankswitch, then I either end up with the same compiling err

Another Tal Comic

This one's in black and white but we all get this way when we see a classic system, or a whole bunch of them, don't we?

Game Trip To Sheboygan, WI

So today, Monday Aug 27, I went to a collectibles and video games store up in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. The place called Freaktoyz is just a small store packed with all kinds of stuff including video games from Atari up to current systems. Not a bad place as they had a large assortment of games. I bought several Atari 2600, 5200, Colecovision, Intellivision, NES, SNES and Genesis games while there. Most of their pricey games were in jewelry cabinets. They also had other collectibles like comic
