Stupid Appendix

So I purchased the 5200 version of MS. PacMan today. I was wandering around the antique stores in Crosby, MN. Sure I paid too much for it, $5.00, but after finding something Atari related in an antique store, I just got a thrill from buying it. Besides, I didn't have a MS PacMan cart for the 5200 yet, and it's pretty much the only game my wife will play if I coax her into playing a video game.Crosby is a remarkably unremarkable small town in the woods of central Minnesota. I was only there becau

First Entry

Well, I've been looking for a place to blog my game related stuff. I had been posting my RawKee Blog on in the Web3D Consortium's forums, but as AtariAge actually has a section for Blogs, I've decided to move my blog here.I will be moving my previous blog posts over to AtariAge. So if you're interested in reading about gaming developments in the X3D/Java3D/indie game movement, I'll try to have some interesting info from time to time.

Where my Atari Stuff Sits

Well, its been a long time since I've done any game development or vcs graphics editor development. The Atari games are put off indeffinitely. It's a shame too, because I get a message every now and then from KC-135 pilots asking to play EB's KC-135. Now that the Flashback 2.0 is coming out, it would have been really cool to have that ready. My Qudditch game is also on hold, though its pretty far along on paper. Its basically a 2600 version of table-top hockey. Then there's my VCS Graphics editor.

Sold a CC2

Well, I sold my CC2 tonight. Kind of sad as I lost a few dollars on it. However, I feel I still received a decent price for it considering that Chad Schell did a second run. Would have liked more but that's the breaks.I had originally purchased two CC2's. The second being a backup in case the first one tanked on me. I was hoping it would hold its value as well. However, I'm actually glad there is a second run. The more development carts out there the better.I have no sob story for selling my spa

As such I am the lead programmer of RawKee.For those who'd like more i

RawKee Plug-in

Well, it took almost 6 months, but my X3D exporter plug-in for Maya was finally featured on the Alias website under their customer stories section. http://www.alias.com/glb/eng/community/cus...itemId=10300004There are some minor problems with the current beta release where metadata and texture mapping are concerned, but overall its a good plugin and those problems will be fixed in the next beta release. My only problem now, is that I can't get character skinning to export correctly. It's driving

Picked it up again

This past year I finished my thesis, had a second child and moved on from my old job. Kids are crazy, the commute is long for ND. I drive 85 miles to work every day. That's probably nothing for CA or NY people, but it's a ways for this place.   Anyway, I've been feeling a bit nostalgic these days, which caused me to take a gander at some of the 2600 designs I did a few years back. So I started back programming for the 2600 again. Picking up where I left off, I started working on a kernel that
