Less painful blood test

So I went to the doctor's office today for a routine medicine check. As it turns out, he wanted to check my blood test for cholesterol. He told me that I needed to come back since I needed to fast, and it just so happens that I went to sleep at about 8 that morning (it was 4:30 when I got the test), and I don't think I had eaten anything in about the last 12 hours. Well maybe I did, I can't remember. Anyway, so I got to do it right then since I hadn't eaten anything so I didn't need to come back. So the doc gave me a list of things to avoid and things to eat. I got to the lab and the lady was real nice. I mentioned Atari and she mentioned she liked a few games. She was the one who brought up Dig Dug and Frogger. I was wondering where she heard of Dig Dug before since it's not really a mainstream game. And I told her that last time they had to take the blood out of my hand since they had a hard time with my veins in my arm. And guess what? She actually listened to me! It wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be, and afterwords I got Arctic Circle for dinner (or should I say breakfast?) For those who live on the East Coast, Arctic Circle is a fast food joint here in the Western US. So even though I wasn't prepared to have a blood test, it turned out better than I had hoped.

I suspect Dig Dug was from before your time as I played it in arcades all over the place. KLOV lists it as Very Common. They had home versions for Atari 2600/5200/7800, Intellivision, Apple II, Atari 400/800, C= VIC-20 and C=64, IBM PC and TI-99/4A. There was also a port for the NES, but it was only available in Japan.

They also made a sequel, Dig Dug II, though it wasn't as popular. KLOV lists it as Scarce. There was a home version for the NES, but nothing else.

Congrats on getting a competent doc. It really is luck of the draw at some clinics.

I thought dig dug was pretty mainstream. Up there with Pac man. Okay, maybe not.. but, at least as popular as Mr. Do! :)
