Quick Q....Wasn't the original super mario game done by an outside developer or software house

 

 

I wouldn't call the tomb raider series 'platformers', more 'action adventures'

 

You missed of Donkey Kong (which spawned the mario bros series) and also Miner 2049r (which was the first platformer programmed for games machines/computers not based on an arcade/coin op game)

 

Interesting thing is that Miner 2049r is basically a re-engineered Pacman game
