The Legend of Helga
I've got to working on The Legend of Helga again. You've probably forgotten or never heard of it, so here it is in a nutshell. I'm making a Zelda-type game for the Virtual Boy. Way back in 2010 when I first started on it, there wasn't much to it. Now, there still isn't much to it, but there was more than before. Here is what you can do so far:
+Walk around. You can walk off the screen. When I get around to it, I'll program stuff in once you walk off the screen. For now, you just walk off it.
+Go into the cave and get a sword. Try going into the cave once you already have the sword.
Here's the plot:
Princess Helga has a toenail fungus. Her paige Pink sets out to go find a cure for it. At the end of the quest, Pink gets the Quadforce. The Quadforce has magical healing powers they say, and Helga gets rid of her fungus. The Quadforce is just like tough actin' Tinactin.
I'm posting the ROM here for now since the zip file is only 13k. The game itself is 512k. I've added the source code, which is 10k. So winzip does a pretty good job of reducing file size! Getting that Virtual Boy at the flea market inspired me to work on something for the VB again.
