Vinyl

So a while back, I stupidly and accidentally (and unknowingly) ruined the cord that goes from my record player to the computer. Turns out it was a weird cord that wasn't the usual USB cable wire. So I put my record player in storage. I got to thinking about the HTDA vinyl record I bought three (!) years ago. So I got my record player out of storage. Then it struck me: I have no speakers. It turns out that the record player had white and red ended wires. The same holes I use to plug in new video game consoles to my VCR. So I plugged in the record player to the VCR, turned the TV on, and put on a record. Sure enough, the sound of the record was coming out of the TV (the TV was acting like speakers!) I just had a thought just now. What if I were to take a VHS tape and tape my records' audio? Or would the VCR not understand what I would be trying to do and not record because it needed video as well? Something to try and I will be doing that tonight. Now I only have three vinyl 10 inch records (I have about 50 12 inch records, but I don't really want to listen to because most of that stuff is on CD as well. 2/3 of my 10 inch records are not on CD.) One of which I own on MP3 on my computer. I want more 10 inch records. I'll take just about everything except country and rap. It's funny, both my vinyl records are from 1997. And I don't even remember where I got them. Must have been Ranch Records, I don't know where else I would have gotten them.

It sounds like your turntable has standard line-out jacks, which you could record with your VCR. You could probably find the correct adapter so you could plug them into the 1/8 jack on your computer.
