Racecar!
Racecar is the first title for the 2600 that is a palindrome (as far as I know.) This is just a side project since I got bored working with Plim. I think it's nice to have two projects going at the same time so if you get bored on one, you can go work on the other one. Not only does it keep you from going totally insane, it also keeps up your coding skills. Anyway, it's a car racing game, as you can probably imagine. I need a way better looking rear-view 2600 car sprite. It can have one color per row but can change colors. It is player 1, so I put in player1colors. So anyway, I got the basic engine (no pun intended) working. If you start right away, at about the seven second mark, a sign pops up indicating that you should turn right pretty soon. Then a right curve shows up and pulls your car to the left if you don't turn right. If you get your car in the grass, it will slow down. After the curve, there's really no point in going forward since I haven't programmed anything afterwards. The timer shows tenths of a second, so the maximum time the score can show is 9:99:9. This is different than Pole Position because PP just shows you the miles instead of the time. I'd rather see the time than the distance driven. I don't know what it would do if you managed to keep playing the game for more than that. My guess is the score would go crazy. I got a flea market to go to in about 5 hours or so, so wish me luck for there.
