PS1 games: how to make one?

How do I make a PS1 game? I want to. I just thought of a good idea of turning my Jack & the Beanstalk game I made for the 2600 into a PS1 game. But first I need to figure out how to make a PS game. Do I use C? What software do I need? I have a PS1 emulator on my computer, but that's about it. In case you don't know the Jack and the Beanstalk 2600 version, here is a break down of what I want to do:

Title Screen.

Open with an animation of Jack's mother sending him out to trade the cow for food.

Level 1 - make sure that the cow doesn't get eaten by the hungry troll.

Animation: Jack trading cow for magic beans.

Level 1a - Jack walking home with the magic beans, and making sure the troll doesn't get all his beans. If you touch the troll, you'll lose a bean. Jack got 4 beans.

Animation: Jack's mother throws the beans out the window. A stalk grows.

Level 2 - Jack going up the stalk.

Animation: Jack in the clouds, spying a big huge castle. Jack goes in.

Level 3 - the castle: Like in the 2600 version, fighting the giant is optional. All you need to get out of the castle is to find the goose that lays the golden eggs, along with the magic harp.

Level 4 - Jack going down the stalk

Ending animation: Goose lays a bunch of golden eggs. Jack and mom are rich!

So, that's what I want to do. I know exactly how I would do this using the Virtual Boy, but I have no idea of what I need to do this on the PS1. Any help is very much appreciated.

Well, what I want to know how to do is write a PS1 program. I read Wikipedia's entry on PS1 development, but it was too small to be of any help. It would be cool if I could release my game by burning it onto blank CDRs. What I want to know is what do I need, what language does it use, how do I compile it, etc.

@ LS_Dracon - the links are dead on the last page, too. I know a fair amount of C, so I think I should be able to do this, provided I can find some sample code to get me moving.

Man, I wish everyone would update their stuff so it would work on 64-bit machines. Am downloading something to make this damn thing work. Part one of three. Right now I have 26 minutes left to download it, so I should probably have everything I need in a few hours. *sigh*.

Did you try the links in www.psxdev.net?

If thoses are too slow do a Google search on

psyq_sdk.zip psx

without any quotes and the emuparadise link has a list of sdks for various game consoles including psx

No, it's not that, it's the stupid virtual machine I have to download since I have a 64k computer and it won't work without a 32k computer without it.
