GoSub DS: The Beginning
Well, I dabbled a bit in DS Game Maker. Apart from the ugly screen at the beginning of every game that says something to the effect of "DS Game Maker was created by soandso," it's a good tool. I spent a whole lot of time trying to figure it out, but I eventually (and by that, I mean hours and hours trying to figure out what to do and how to do it, along with countless stupid error messages), I created this:
The sub at the top just keeps going left and when it gets to the edge of the screen, it loops back again. If you touch the GoSub logo, it will take you here:
Apparently, I can't make a solid wall since I can only have so many sprites on the screen at the same time. The coral is one 16x16 sprite multiplied a bunch to give you, well, a wall that isn't pretty, but works. The sub can't move yet, so the game right now ends here. Later I'll make a web page for GoSub DS with game so far and a box picture and stuff. Perhaps there can be a way to circumvent the ugly first title screen and have it display the first one. (If I do, I will give credit somehow to the guy(s) that made DS Game Maker.) Also, I was hoping the emulator would show a DS start-up screen and I could make my own icon for the game, like in all the retail ones. So this is what I've done, and I hope to work more on this after I rested from being mad at it.
