It's not that easy being red...
So I got the urge to work on Insecticide again. The thing I was going to do was quickly put in an arena for Panzer Dragonfly. But then I got an idea. Since it's a swamp, why not put a background character in? The first idea was a frog, that would jump from lillypad to lillypad. I spent three hours trying to do that and all I have to show for it is jumping on the same lillypad over and over. The problem I had with it moving to the next lillypad was what if the camera moved because the insect moved off screen? The "camera" is following your insect, so I just couldn't wrap my head over how to make the frog move out of screen and into screen while the camera is following the insect as well. There are just too many things going on there. So I made the frog jump in one spot. That simplified everything, but it's not really what I had in mind. Oh well, at least there's action going on in the background. And I put in a frog to show that it is a swamp, since it doesn't really look like a swamp in my opinion. I wanted to put in some mist, but it wouldn't let me. It was too complex of a background. So the next step is composing Panzer Dragonfly's music. Since I think adding SMB music to Princess Rescue was the straw that broke Nintendo's back, I've decided to compose something original instead of my first idea which was to add a tune from Panzer Dragoon in there. I have never played Panzer Dragoon before. I don't even know what the game's about. And once this is done, the next step is to test on a real VB to see if everything is OK. But I'm kinda burned out since I spent three hours in a row trying to work on the game, so I'll take a little break.
