ActionMax stuff

So last night before I went to bed decided to take my ActionMax out from the garage and try to make it work again. I don't exactly know why I decided to do this, but I did. After fiddling around with where to plug the gun in (there are a lot of different places to plug stuff in.) I rewound the Sonic Fury game and started messing around with it. A major hurdle was that my old CRT-TV refused to display the channel numbers, along with the control settings display. It did this a couple of times before, but it decided to work again. I tried unplugging and plugging in the TV in but to no avail. I had to try to play with the brightness controls the way they were. But do you know what? I think I plugged the gun in the wrong place because somehow it decided to work! I had wondered why the score worked when the ActionMax "title screen" told me to try and make the screen go up. So now with my ActionMax actually working, I'd like to do two things. #1 - On Halloween night, play "The Rescue of Pops Ghostly." #2 - Finally get started on making Bubba's Buck Blastin'. The problem with working on Bubba's Buck Blastin' is this: I don't know how I would go about making the target flicker so rapidly in my video editing software. That is the biggest hurdle I'm facing. I need to figure out the specifications on how many frames the videotape flickers, then figure out how to match frames to my video editing software, then burn some test video onto a DVD, then transfer the test video DVD to VHS, then test it on my VCR with my ActionMax. I don't know how many tries this will end up doing, but hopefully, this will end up at least working. So this weekend, I'll try to work on Bubba's Buck Blastin. I have about 15 minutes' worth of forest footage I taped from the Van Duezer Corridor Park/rest area place. Unfortunately, there were no deer there. But when I came back from the grocery store where I live, there were three deer. Go figure. Deer like to come and go as they please where I am. I guess I'll have to draw pictures of alien deer and then insert them in the video, which was the plan all along because I didn't expect there to be deer in the forest. Why alien deer? Because of the way ActionMax works. It can't get rid of the deer the minute you shoot them since it would be the same footage every time because the game is on a VHS tape, and VHS tapes only play one way, so it can't gather info on what you're doing like a tape or disc can. Or that's what I think happens. So the alien deer must linger around before they die in case the player shoots them right when they pop up on the screen. And then dissolve, either because you shot them or they sensed you were there. I'll put this info at the beginning of the tape.
