Being an author is hard.

I don't know if I've mentioned this here before, but I've been working on a story. It's a parody story. In the end, I plan to have 14 chapters in it and I want it to be 114 pages. Right now I'm on chapter 9. I've written 11,000 words. In the end, I want there to be about 19,000. I'm on page 66. So I press on. I just got finished writing chapter 8 and the beginning of 9. It's a gross story. But it's supposed to be. I've decided singlehandedly to continue the series of books I read when I was a kid called Barf-O-Rama. In 1996-7 when the books came out, I was 13-14 years old. I looked at the beginning of one and it said it was aimed at 8-12 year olds. Oh well. Now I am an adult, and am smart enough to actually write a book instead of read it, but it's proving out to be harder than it seems. When I was a kid, I rediscovered an attempt at a 16th book called "Genie In a Butthole," presumably named after the song "Genie In a Bottle" that was popular at the time (1999 or so.) But now it's almost 2014. And 13 years later, I'm trying to write a book with about 19,000 words in it. The page size I made in Word is about the size of the original books. I wonder if I finish, if I can have a one-off copy printed of it someplace, with the same size and dimensions as a Goosebumps book or something. I think it would be kind of neat to have. Anyway, when I finish an 8-page chapter, I get real tired and my head starts hurting. It took about 2 hours to write chapter 8. To think what I want to have happen next and actually write it takes a lot of time. But now most of this is filler since I know the ending to the story. I need to think of about 7,000 more words (or 4 chapters) before I can write the ending. It's an odd story about a kid who saves the world from an asteroid. It's called "Hairy Snotter." I chose November to finish it because it is apparently write a novel month, which I think I learned about that from someone here.
