Didj collecting
Someone help me. I'm totally obsessed with a handheld console meant for 1-5 graders. "Foster's" came in the mail yesterday, and I just ordered "Didji Racing" yesterday, too. I am so wondering how they will put in learning in a racing game. I mean, racing is supposed to be fast. I guess the good news is once this other game comes, I'll have about half the collection. It was a very good idea, and a shame they only released 15 games for it before they went back to actual kiddie games. What I mean is the Didj has this vibe about it that says "I'm not a kiddie console." Or at least I think that. It doesn't even look like one. It looks like something Nintendo would put out. It has square, card, DS-like cartridges for it, the standard A B button configuration, everything. The only thing missing is a bigger library. If there is ever computer software that lets programmers make homebrew Didj games, I will try and make my Grand Theft Auto game become a reality. But I doubt that grown-ups would want to make homebrew games for an educational console meant for kids, even though I said it doesn't look like it's meant for kids. I guess Leapfrog was too scared to delve into the uncharted territory of non-kid-like games and found it safe to go back into the stuff they knew how to do, which is really a shame. I bet it wouldn't be too hard to make software for Didj homebrew development. The Didj uses modified Linux. I'd do it, but I don't know how to go about making homebrew development software, so someone else has to. Oh, and an emulator would help immensely too, though I doubt anyone has "dumped" Didj games yet. There is just so much potential to make games that aren't educational on this thing.
